Voorhees Town Center to host Passover Prep Academy

VOORHEES TWP. —  From interactive play centers to craft projects and scavenger hunts, the Passover Prep Academy Museum at Voorhees Town Center will offer a hands-on, educational experience for people of all ages.

Coordinated by the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey's Department of Jewish Education and Continuity, the Museum will be located on the Upper Level of the mall, near Lenscrafters, from March 27 to April 13. A Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place Sunday, March 27 at 1 p.m.

"As Voorhees Town Center is an ideal, convenient place to meet, we partnered with the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey to give area residents the opportunity to learn essential information while having a good time with friends and family," said Maria Umbriac, mall marketing director. "The opening of the Passover Prep Academy Museum furthers our role as the new 'downtown' of Voorhees, New Jersey."

Guests of the Museum will enjoy interactive play and learning centers focusing on Passover themes such as freedom, the meaning of the seder —the traditional Passover meal— Passover etiquette, and foods of the holiday.  Also, craft projects, a cooking center, and scavenger hunts are just a few of the exhibits that will be featured. The Passover Prep Academy's signature program will be ExodUS, where participants will walk through the story of the exodus, taking pictures to import into their own custom Passover prayer book, the Hagaddah.

Additionally, special events will be held on Sunday Fundays including the popular "An American Doll Seder", and a series of programs for adults only will be held on Tuesday evenings.

The Passover Prep Academy Museum is open to the public noon to  4 p.m. weekdays, 1 to  4 p.m. Sundays, and the Museum is closed on Saturdays. General admission is $7 per person; prices for Adult Nights vary. The group rate is $5 per person.
