Winslow police: Two residents caught stealing copper wire from Atlantic City Electric towers

WINSLOW TWP. — Two Sicklerville residents are accused of stealing copper grounding wire from Atlantic City Electric transmission lines.

James Coogan, 40, and Sally Reisetter, 42, both of the unit block of Sicklerville Road, are each charged with theft, conspiracy and criminal mischief. The two were committed to the Camden County Correctional Facility, Camden, each in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

Police observed two individuals — later identified as Coogan and Reisetter — leaving a wooded area along Cedarbrook Road about 1:45 a.m. Thursday. They were in possession of a bag containing copper grounding wire and tools.

The pair told police they found the bag while in the woods. Police said Coogan could not offer an answer when asked why the bag was dry when it had been raining for a day.

A check of nearby Atlantic City Electric towers indicated several grounding wires were missing. Coogan had tools in his pocket. Police also said the hood to his jacket was located near one of the towers.
