Drill to close PATCO's Ashland station for six hours

VOORHEES TWP. — PATCO's Ashland station here will be closed to passengers from 6 a.m. until noon Sunday while an emergency drill is carried out.

The drill will simulate an emergency onboard a PATCO train located at the Ashland Station platform.

Over 100 people will be involved with the drill.  Drill participants will include PATCO personnel as well as Delaware River Port Authority Public Safety, Voorhees Fire, EMS, other local police departments and the Camden County Office of Emergency Management.

"The drill is conducted to comply with FTA (federal transportation agency) requirements, but, more importantly, it helps local responders prepare for emergencies," said PATCO President John J. Matheussen.

All other PATCO stations will have normal operations during the drill.
