The playoff hopes of the Eagles (8-7) remain alive after Jake Elliott hit a 35-yard field goal as time expired to save the game. Nick Foles led them on the game-winning drive after the defense gave up a 13-point fourth quarter lead. Running back Josh Adams' fumble with 5:30 remaining in the game keyed the Texans comeback.

It took Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson less than a minute to capitalize when he hit D’onta Foreman for a 20-yard touchdown to make it a 29-23 game.

On the Texans' next possession, Watson connected with Vyncint Smith for a 35-yard touchdown pass with 2:11 left in the game. The extra point gave Houston the lead 30-29.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP took over from there, delivering an early Christmas present for the Eagles faithfuls.

During the game-winning drive, Foles was forced to miss a down after taking a brutal hit by defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who was flagged with a late hit. He returned to complete a 20-yard pass to Zach Ertz. A 16-yard run by Darren Sproles put the Eagles in field goal range.

Foles finished the game completing 35-of-49 passes for 471 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor had five receptions for 116 receiving yards including a 83-yard touchdown catch.

Ertz broke former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten’s single-season record for a tight end of 110 receptions in a season. He finished the game with 12 receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

The Eagles travel to Washington next Sunday needing a win and a Minnesota loss to Chicago to clinch a wild card spot. The game was moved to a 4:25 p.m. start.
