Vintage candid photos in N.J.

In my humble opinion, candid photos are the absolute best photos.

Some people can take a good photo anywhere at any time. They have that ability to look good no matter the situation and no matter what time of day or night it is. Point a camera at them, and it’s an instant masterpiece.

Then, there are people like me who break camera lenses.

When photos aren’t posed or staged, we’re seeing a real moment in time, people as they actually are, life as it actually happened. Maybe someone’s hair is a little out of place; perhaps they’re not standing “just so.” But what they are doing is helping to capture things as they truly were and create memories that last longer than people standing stiffly with their best “have you taken it yet?” stilted smile.

Here’s a gallery of vintage candid photos taken in New Jersey who gave of themselves in service to our nation. If you have vintage photos you’d like to see in our slide shows, send them in an email to [email protected].
