Woodstown’s rookie head coach Kara Straughn went up against Gloucester Catholic coaching legend Lisa Gedaka when their teams met on the opening night of the 2023-24 season Dec. 15. Gedaka is in her 35th season – all at Gloucester Catholic – and last January became the winningest girls basketball coach in South Jersey history.
