Adonis Perez, Hudson Catholic, RHP, Fr.

A powerful, 6-foot-3, 180-pound ninth grader from Perth Amboy, Perez is going to get plenty of work for Hudson Catholic this spring. Reports say Perez has a great arm, is already throwing in the mid-80s and has a huge upside.

Sean Heine, Shawnee, RHP, So.

A 6-4, 185-pounder played varsity basketball for Shawnee, so his competitive nature is one of his strength. He is already throwing 85-87 mph with room to fill out over the next two seasons.

Scott Faytok | For NJ Advance Media

Jacob Ciccone, South Brunswick, LHP, So.

Ciccone pitched 18.2 varsity innings last season with 12 strikeouts and nine walks. He allowed 10 earned runs and 23 hits. Owner of an outstanding breaking ball, Ciccone topped out at 83 mph last season. A year bigger, stronger and wise, he figures to be better this spring.

Matt Ryan, Montgomery, RHP. Sr.

Ryan out-pitcher is his curveball. The 6-1, 165-pounder has a breaking ball in the 69-72 mph range. He also throws a fastball that hits between 84-87 mph. When Ryan is on the mound, Montgomery has a chance to be any opponent.

John Munson | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Andrew DeRubertis, Bergen Catholic, RHP, Sr.

A guy who always like to have the ball in big games, DeRubertis can bring the fastball at 87-89 mph. However, what makes him effective his his curveball. DeRubertis is 6-1, 195 and is a Davidson recruit. He throws from a three-quarter arm slot and also features a sweet changeup.

Joe Warner | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Billy Cavender, Pitman, LHP, Sr.

Cavender is proof you don't need a 90 mph fastball to be successful. With a fastball at 82 mph, Cavender relies more on location, movement and a knee-buckling curveball to get outs. He struck out 17 last season in a win over Gloucester. After returning from an early season injury, he went 5-0 with a 0.83 ERA. He struck out 83 in 42 innings.

Andrew Mills | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Nick Maldonado, Seton Hall Prep, RHP, So.

Maldonado brings a fastball in the 90 mph range, but what made him such an impact pitcher last year was his nasty breaking stuff. Maldonado was 6-0 last season with a 1.11 ERA and 31 strikeouts and only six walks in 31 innings.

Don't Edit

William Perlman | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Anthony Dimartino, Timber Creek, LHP, Jr.

The 5-10, 165-pounder files under the radar, but he has one of the best curves in South Jersey to go along with a fastball that tops out in the 84-86 mph range.

Don't Edit

Saed Hindash | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Eric Heatter, Monroe, LHP, Sr.

His filthy breaking stuff to go along with an excellent fastball, tremendous mound presence and great courage make Heatter one of the premier pitchers in the state. He works both sides of the plate, throwing his off-speed and breaking staff in any count and brings confidence to every outing. The Rutgers recruit was 4-2 -- one of the losses 1-0 to J.P. Stevens. He had a 0.76 ERA. In 45.2 innings he struck out 74 and walked 14. He also had an .844 WHIP.

Jon Block | Freehold Borough High School

Dan Chiusano, Freehold Borough, LHP, Sr.

A strike-throwing, speed-mixing master, Chiusano excels at changing the eye level of hitters and keeping them off balance with a wicked curveball and a sneak fastball. In that game, Chiusano threw only 66 pitches -- 49 of those strikes.
