The first four days of the boys lacrosse season had a number of games pitting ranked opponents against each other. With a few surprising results, see how the NJ.com Top 20 looks heading into the first full week of the season.

20-Rumson-Fair Haven (1-1)

Last Week: N/R

After opening the season with a loss to IMG Academy, Rumson-Fair Haven rebounded with an impressive 9-1 victory against Southern.

19-Manasquan (1-0)

Last Week: No. 20

Manasquan opened the season with a 10-7 win over Freehold Township in a battle between two for the best teams in the Shore Conference.

Sparta, which began the season with 20 straight wins last year, lost its season-opener to Chatham, 14-1, this week.

Hunterdon Central opened the season with back-to-back losses to formidable opponents. The Red Devils fell to Bridgewater-Raritan, 8-2, and Ridgewood, 12-2.

After a 10-6 loss to Tournament of Champions contender Ridgewood in the season opener, Northern Highlands rebounded with a 6-5 win over Pascack Valley.

Last Week: No. 16

Ridge opened up the 2017 season with back-to-back dominant wins, knocking down Hopewell Valley, 9-2, and topping Somerville, 15-2.

Mountain Lakes came out of the gate strong in 2017 with wins over Don Bosco Prep and West Morris. The defending Group 1 champs look to be on the path back to the Tournament of Champions.

Bergen Catholic took a trip down south to open its season, which started with a loss to Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.). The Crusaders will look to get in the win column when they go up against Ramapo on Tuesday.

St. Augustine came up north on the second day of the season and handed Pingry an 8-4 loss. Freshman David Burr leads the team with six points in two games to start the 2017 season.

7-Bridgewater-Raritan (2-0)

It’s a new year for Bridgewater-Raritan, but the same expectations are there for the Somerset County squad. The Panthers want to be in the Tournament of Champions again in 2017 and took a step in the right direction with a win over No. 17 Hunterdon Central on Opening Day and then a rain-soaked victory over Rutgers Prep on Friday.

6-Montgomery (2-0)

Last Week: No. 7

There has been no rust so far for Montgomery, which has scored 33 times in two wins this season. Nico Ipeker scored his 100th career goal in a 16-1 win over Hopewell Valley on Saturday.

5-Seton Hall Prep (1-1)

Seton Hall Prep battled in a loss to No. 2 Summit on Opening Day and then came back with a 19-2 win over Montclair to get itself in the win column. This squad has all the right pieces back to maintain its status as an elite contender in 2017.

Chatham looks really good as it prepares for a meeting with No. 1 Delbarton on Tuesday. Sophomore Mac Bredahl already has eight goals and seven assists this season for the Cougars, who wins over Sparta and Morristown.

3-Ridgewood (2-0)

Ridgewood came out firing this season and used a fast start to knock off No. 16 Northern Highlands on Opening Day. The Bergen County squad followed up with a victory over No. 17 Hunterdon Central.

Summit stumbled in a matchup with Delbarton, but the Union County squad did pick up an impressive win earlier in the week. Summit started its season with an 8-6 victory over No. 5 Seton Hall Prep thanks to a strong defensive effort.
