The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $54 million with a cash option of $25.9 million.
“The winning numbers were: 9, 55, 59, 66, 69. Powerball: 21. Power Play 2x.”
While no one across the country hit Wednesday’s $40 million jackpot, a pair of second-prize $1 million tickets were sold — one apiece in Massachusetts and Washington state. Each matched five numbers but not the Powerball.
In New Jersey, two tickets worth $50,000 each were sold for Wednesday drawing — one at a Wawa store on Monmouth Road in Millstone in Monmouth County, the other by a player using the Jackpocket app.
Both third-prize tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 7, 11, 12, 27 and 46. The Powerball number drawn was 26 with a Power Play of 3X.
In addition, no one hit the secondary $10 million Double Play jackpot. Those winning numbers were: 16, 17, 33, 56 and 66. The Double Play number drawn was 18.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
