Head of drug network that sold meth, fentanyl in South Jersey sentenced

The leader of a drug delivery network that distributed narcotics throughout southern New Jersey and the Philadelphia suburbs was sentenced to 18 years in prison by a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

U.S. District Court Judge Noel Hillman sentenced Glenn Long, 29, in federal court in Camden for his role in the scheme the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency began investigating in 2020.

Long, of Philadelphia, who is also known by the aliases “Bless” and “Max,” was sentenced for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Once released, Long must be supervised by the criminal justice system for five years.

Long was charged with leading the conspiracy in March 2021 but wasn’t arrested until July of that year.

In legal documents, prosecutors said Long was the head of “Bless DTO,” a multiple-person group that distributed various types of drugs throughout the Philadelphia region. Undercover agents used several tactics, including electronic surveillance and controlled drug purchases, to investigate the organization, prosecutors said.

Thirteen other people were charged in the case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said previously.

Prosecutors say Long used his conspirators to provide drugs to customers who request them through phone calls. His associates were found with more than 2,700 grams of methamphetamine and 400 grams of fentanyl, authorities said.

Long led the scheme while he was a fugitive on a federal drug trafficking indictment in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. He has since pleaded guilty to those offenses.
