Funeral scheduled for 2 brothers killed in GSP crash

Funeral services for two brothers who were killed in a crash last week on the Garden State Parkway will be held on New Year’s Eve.

Obituaries for Jimmy Quispe-Prieto, 23, and Kevin Quispe-Prieto, 21, list calling hours at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday. A graveside service will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park Cemetery.

The two brothers were killed Wednesday when their sedan slammed into the back of a tanker truck. Two of their other friends, 24-year-old Victor Lugo and 23-year-old Bobby Ordeñana, were also killed in the crash.

A funeral service for Lugo was scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Lakewood.

A GoFundMe seeking to raise $50,000 to help cover funeral costs had garnered more than $10,000 by Sunday.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
