Sheet Metal Workers Union 22 presents check to Mobile Meals of Westfield

Sheet Metal Workers Union 22 presented Mobile Meals of Westfield a $250 Shop Rite food card donation on Nov. 10. Representing the union was president James O’Reilly and business representative, financial secretary/treasurer Jason Rooney. Accepting the donation was Mobile Meals operations manager Josephine Walsh.

Mobile Meals of Westfield is a nonprofit organization which provides nutritious hot meals for those unable to provide meals for themselves. The organization serves the communities of Clark, Cranford, Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside, Scotch Plains and Westfield. Sheet Metal Workers’ Union 22 serves Union, Morris, Somerset and Sussex counties. The union members support veterans, the homeless and nonprofit organizations as part of their community assistance programs. In addition, new union members, as part of their apprenticeship, provide 20 hours of community service annually over a five year period for a total of 100 hours.
