— You can run. You can even hide. Just don't expect it to do much good.

Police say a resident's repeated attempts to evade capture didn't accomplish much, as he was arrested Dec. 10.

County sheriff's Detectives Matt Cain and William Lunger first came to Russell Decker's borough home on Dec. 5, to arrest him on a warrant, according to the county sheriff's office. But when the officers identified themselves, Decker jumped out of a second-floor window, and ran away from the home, the sheriff's office said.

The detectives, along with several other sheriff's officers, a K9 unit and several state troopers were unable to find Decker, the sheriff's office said. So another warrant was issued, charging him with resisting arrest by flight and obstruction of the administration of law.

Five days later, the detectives returned to the scene of that alleged crime — Decker's home. This time, he tried to hide under his bed, the sheriff's office said.

He was found and taken into custody, the sheriff's office said. He also had a small quantity of marijuana on him, and was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, the sheriff's office said.

Decker was transported to the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility where he remained  lodged in lieu of $10,000 bail with no 10 percent option as of Wednesday, when the sheriff's office issued a statement about the arrest.

It was not immediately clear from information provided by the sheriff's office what charges prompted the warrant that initially led officers to Decker's home.
