The winter forecasts are in. Could N.J. get hit by more snow than usual this year?

We just celebrated Halloween and we’re weeks away from Thanksgiving, but lots of weather forecasters have already weighed in with their predictions for the winter season of 2021-2022 in the New Jersey region.

Are we in for a winter full of brutal cold snaps and nasty nor’easters that blast us with heavy snow? Or will we end up with a mild winter with hardly any flakes?

Here’s what six forecasters are predicting for this winter season, which starts Dec. 1 on the meteorological calendar and Dec. 21 on the astronomical calendar — the one most of us use at home.
