CBS needs the airwaves, but Stephen Colbert isn’t letting election night move forward without him.

The “Late Show” host will front “Stephen Colbert’s Election Night 2020: Democracy’s Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020,” starting at 11 p.m. on Nov. 3, Showtime announced.

“Join me on election night from six feet away. Haha, hopefully in the future, you’ll have to explain to your grandchildren what that joke means,” Colbert says in the promo video, wearing a Star-Spangled Banner mask. “Also, hopefully in the future, you’ll have grandchildren. Also, hopefully, there’ll be a future.”

The hour-long special will feature Colbert “reacting in real-time to election results as the state-by-state returns come in,” according to Showtime, and will air live from the host’s “virtual underground political bunker” without an audience, due to coronavirus protocols.

Guests will include Charlamagne Tha God and “The Circus” hosts Alex Wagner, John Heilemann and Mark McKinnon.

Colbert aired a similar program with Showtime during the last presidential election of 2016, called “Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going to Clean Up This S–t?”

“It’s going to be a great night although my therapist has reminded me America has to WANT to change,” the late-night host said in a statement.
