Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch has remained optimistic about Leeds United’s form despite the side only taking two points from their last five games.
On Sunday afternoon, Leeds appeared on track for an important win over Crystal Palace, taking the lead through Pascal Struijk. However, despite dominating long periods of the game, Marsch’s team fell to a 2-1 defeat, completed by Eberechi Eze’s late winner.

Speaking after the game, Marsch bemoaned how Leeds’ impressive 3-0 win over Chelsea in August had put opposing “teams on a warning”.
Leeds have not won since that game, on August 21, and have picked up only two draws from the next five league games.
Asked about their form, Marsch replied: “It’s a weird season right now, with the break. In some ways the Chelsea game might have been bad for us because it put teams on a warning that we’re playing intensive and they have to respect us a little bit more.
“In the end, whatever. Every game in this league is tough. I believe we’ve played better over the past five games than two points. I believe that and I know that.
“But in the end, as a young team we’ve got to find ways to reward ourselves so we can continue to feed belief and confidence into what we’re doing.”
However, Marsch soothed fears over the fitness of Patrick Bamford, who came off after an hour on his return to the team.
He said: “Patrick is clearly physically in good form. In general I thought he was okay, (on) a day when he is a little bit sharper, I think he finds a goal.
“Firpo picked up a little something after the last game. He’ll be ready next week.”
Leeds’ next game comes against high-flying Arsenal next Sunday. They sit 14th in the league, three points above the relegation zone.
