Carlo Ancelotti has distanced himself from reports linking him to the vacancy with the Brazil national team by revealing he plans to stay at Real Madrid until 2024.

The 63-year-old is enjoying his second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu having previously managed the Spanish club from June 2013 until May 2015.

He returned to Madrid in June 2021 before leading the club to a La Liga and Champions League double last season.

Tite’s departure from his role as Brazil head coach has sparked speculation regarding Ancelotti’s future but he has reiterated his commitment to the club for the remainder of his contract.

“I don’t know what the future holds for me, I live day-by-day,” Ancelotti told Italian Rai Radio 1 show.

“At the moment, I’m happy in Madrid, we have a lot of objectives for this season. I have a contract until June 30, 2024, and, if Real Madrid don’t sack me before then, I’m not going to move.”

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo previously said Ancelotti should be considered for the Brazil national team vacancy along with Jose Mourinho and Abel.

Ronaldo said following Brazil’s World Cup exit: “There are a lot of amazing names that would do a lot of good. Ancelotti, Abel, from Palmeiras, Mourinho, from Roma. They are incredible names. All of them with contracts. I don’t know what the CBF will do, but my opinion is that it would support a foreign name.”

Brazil were eliminated from the 2022 World Cup at the quarter-final stage by Croatia after losing a penalty shootout.
