Barcelona dismantle Chelsea to win Women's Champions League

Barcelona won their first ever Women's Champions League after beating Chelsea 4-0.

Lluis Cortes' side gained redemption for their 4-1 loss to Lyon in 2019's final by emphatically trouncing Chelsea at the Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg.

Emma Hayes' side, who were making their first ever Champions League final appearance, have seen their hopes of a historic quadruple dashed.

La Liga race continues to final day

Both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid gained three points on the penultimate weekend of the La Liga campaign to take the title race to the final day of the season.

Luis Suarez scored in the 89th minute to hand Diego Simeone's side a dramatic 2-1 win against Osasuna. In a more straight-forward victory, Real Madrid edged past Athletic Bilbao 1-0.

Goalkeeper Alisson scores dramatic late winner for Liverpool

Alisson scored a dramatic late headed goal as Liverpool managed a vital 2-1 win against West Brom in their chase for a Champions League place.

The goalkeeper went up for a corner deep into added time. He rose highest from the set piece to head past Sam Johnstone and secure his side the three points.

Alisson's goal made him the first ever shot stopper to score in Liverpool's history, and the sixth keeper to find the net in the Premier League era.

Tottenham boost European hopes with Wolves win

Tottenham boosted their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League after goals from Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg helped them to a comfortable 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old teenager Daniel Jebbison scored on his first Premier League start to give Sheffield United a 1-0 victory that dented Everton's hopes of qualifying for Europe.

Earlier in the day, Crystal Palace scored twice in the second half to secure a 3-2 victory against Aston Villa during an engrossing affair between the two mid-table sides at Villa Park.

Dani Alves earns Brazil recall — two years after his last appearance

Dani Alves earned a recall to the Brazil squad at the age of 38.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain defender has impressed for Sau Paolo in his native country and will now be part of Tite's squad for their World Cup 2022 qualifiers in June.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘positive’ about Harry Maguire making Europa League final

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he was “positive” his club captain Harry Maguire will be available for the Europa League final on May 26.

Maguire has missed United’s last two fixtures after sustaining ligament damage to his ankle during United’s game against Aston Villa last weekend.
