Based on conversations I’ve had, it’s been a long time since there has been this level of dread heading into a Raptors season.

Certainly, there is a feeling of unease. Between the loss of Fred VanVleet in free agency, the upcoming free agency of Pascal Siakam, O.G. Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr., the first-time head coach and the lawsuit filed against him, the Raptors feel as if they are in a precarious place right now. Following last year’s disappointing regular season and embarrassing Play-In Tournament defeat, it is hard to know what the plan is with this team.

That’s just anecdotal, though. Maybe Darko Rajaković is the next great, young head coach. Maybe Scottie Barnes, with the ball in his hands more often, will be able to transform the Raptors. Perhaps a full year with Jakob Poeltl means the Raptors will roll defensively from the start.

With a few weeks left until media day in Toronto and training camp in Vancouver, The Athletic wants to see where subscribers are at with the Raptors. Fill in the form below, and we will have the results at some point next week. As always, thanks for supporting our coverage.
