So how exactly do the Rockies follow up perhaps the best road stretch in team history?

Fresh off following Colorado as it embarked upon a 5-1 road trip through Houston and Atlanta, Nick Groke joins The Athletic Denver Podcast host Nate Kreckman to talk about where the Rockies stand with five weeks to go in the season.

The Rockies begin a three-game series with the Padres on Tuesday coming off a 30-16 stretch against teams with winning records, the best such stretch in National League history. That included a four-game sweep of the Braves over the weekend. It was the first time the Rockies had ever had such a winning streak in Atlanta.

Such milestones seem to be commonplace these days for a Rockies team that is surging behind a talented, young pitching staff, timely veteran hitting and an experienced manager who seems to be hitting all the right buttons.

In this week’s edition of The Athletic Denver Podcast, Groke and Kreckman break down the stretch run for a Rockies team trying to make history by winning a National League West title for the first time since the team was born in 1993.

Check with Nick and Nate about how they view an exciting team coming down the stretch:
