Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was ruled out of Sunday’s 29-12 loss to Denver Broncos with a concussion after taking a hard hit from outside linebacker Baron Browning late in the third quarter. Here’s what you need to know:
- P.J. Walker entered the game at quarterback for the Browns as Thompson-Robinson exited to Cleveland’s locker room.
- Thompson-Robinson started the last two games for the Browns in place of starter Deshaun Watson, who has been sidelined for the season due to shoulder surgery.
- Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper also exited with a rib injury, but X-rays came back negative.
Backstory
Thompson-Robinson was 14-of-29 passing for 134 yards and threw his first career touchdown wide receiver Harrison Bryant with 6:42 remaining in the third. The rookie also rushed five times for 21 yards before exiting.
Entering Sunday, the rookie compiled 296 passing yards and four interceptions through his four career games.

What they’re saying
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said postgame, “You never want to see your quarterback get hit like that.”
When asked if Thompson-Robinson would be Cleveland’s starter next week against the Los Angeles Rams if he clears protocol, Stefanski said, “Let’s see how he (does) with the protocol.”
