Portrait of Aaron Boxerman

Aaron Boxerman

I work on the Live team, a department of The Times dedicated to breaking news. Recently I have worked almost exclusively on the Israel-Hamas war, although I also occasionally write about other parts of the Middle East.

Before starting at The Times, I spent three years working in Jerusalem, covering Israel and the Palestinian territories. I covered life in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza through multiple Israeli elections and several rounds of heightened violence. I am a graduate of Northwestern University.

The Times has extensive ethics and standards guidance that I, and everyone else in the newsroom, follow. I strive to describe what is often a complex reality with scrupulous accuracy. I make every effort to understand issues from multiple angles, approaching every side with skeptical curiosity. And when I make mistakes, I correct them publicly and clearly.
