Portrait of Ashley Wu

Ashley Wu

I cover a variety of topics, including politics, economics and education. I use data and visuals, including charts, maps and videos, to help readers understand complex topics like the debt limit, immigration, Covid’s toll and Republican candidates’ campaign styles.

I also create graphics for The Morning, The Times’s flagship daily newsletter.

Before joining The Times in 2021, I worked at Apple on their News app and at New York Magazine as a data reporter and web designer. I’ve also interned on graphics teams at The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and La Nación, a daily newspaper in Argentina. I have a bachelor’s in journalism from Northwestern University.

Like all Times journalists, I am committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook. I strive to make my work accurate, fair and clear.
