Voters approved Amendment 70 — Increase Minimum Wage — in Colorado on Tuesday. The amendment calls for increasing the state’s minimum wage to $12 per hour by 2020 from $8.31. Colorado’s minimum wage exceeds the federal floor of $7.25. Opponents have said that the shift is feasible in cities with vibrant economies, like Denver, but that rural areas would suffer.
