Alaska Election Results

In Alaska, voters will choose a new governor after Gov. Bill Walker, an independent and former Republican, abruptly ended his re-election campaign less than a month before the election.

Mr. Walker has asked his supporters to throw their weight behind Mark Begich, a Democrat and former United States Senator, even though Mr. Walker’s name will still appear on the ballot. Mr. Begich faces Mike J. Dunleavy, a well-financed Republican and former state senator.

Representative Don Young, the longest-serving current member of the House, is looking to defeat Alyse Galvin, an independent, and win his 24th term as Alaska’s only representative in the House. Ms. Galvin, an education advocate, is a first-time candidate and listed on the Alaskan ballot as the Democratic nominee.
