Nebraska Election Results
Nebraska is reliably Republican territory, and the party’s incumbent governor and senator are widely expected to win re-election.
Gov. Pete Ricketts is facing State Senator Bob Krist, a former Republican running as a Democrat. And Senator Deb Fischer, a consistent vote for President Trump’s policies, is running against Jane Raybould, a Democrat who serves on the Lincoln City Council.
Mostly relegated to the political sidelines in Nebraska, Democrats have tried to gain rural support by emphasizing their opposition to Mr. Trump’s trade policies, which have hurt Nebraska farmers. But the party’s best chance of a breakthrough in the state is in the urban center of Omaha, where a congressional seat could be in play.

Democrats chose an unabashedly progressive candidate, Kara Eastman, who supports single-payer health care and abortion rights, to take on Representative Don Bacon in a swing district in the Omaha area. Democrats have held this seat before, but primary voters rejected the party’s former congressman, who was more moderate than Ms. Eastman. Mr. Bacon, a former Air Force general finishing his first term in Congress, has emphasized his military service.
