Nathan Burrow is an editor who covers shopping, retail trends, and deals. He has scanned countless sales and discounts. Most underwhelm.

I’m Wirecutter’s senior editor of deals coverage. You can trust me when I say: Most Prime Day discounts stink.

I should know. My team and I have already reviewed over 89,000 deals (and counting) this Prime Day. And we’ve curated deals roundups across a wide variety of categories including travel, kitchen, headphones, laptops, and more.

As always, less than 1% of the deals we reviewed have been good enough for us to share with you.

That’s because overinflated “full” prices, middling price drops, and hype instead of substantive savings are the norm for many of these retailer-concocted deals events.

We’ve left all the garbage “sales” to the side and collected only our favorite deals on Wirecutter’s expert-vetted picks below.

Most Prime Day deals end when the clock strikes midnight. While the event officially wraps at 12 a.m. PT on Wednesday, July 17, some deals may linger. My team will continue to find and vet the best deals after Prime Day ends—check out our daily deals for the latest.

An Amazon Prime account may be required to secure the deal prices below.

Day 1 of Prime Day is in our rearview. We’ve curated a list of the most popular deals with our readers since the sale kicked off, all of them on expert-recommended, price-vetted Wirecutter picks. For all the deals that made our list, check out our roundup of The 30 Most Popular Prime Day Sales, According to Wirecutter Readers.

The best bath towel, the Frontgate Resort Cotton Bath Towel, shown folded into a square.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

What we like: Our top pick for the best bath towel is the softest, warmest, and most comfortable plush towel we’ve ever tested. It feels like a towel from a luxury hotel and comes in a wider variety of colors than any other we’ve found. It holds up for years and feels fuller and plusher with each wash.

Other things to know: If you know you prefer thinner towels, this isn't the pick for you. Bulkier to store and wash. Use code WCJULY24 for the deal price and free shipping—remove any existing discount code to apply this one for a better price.

A person wears a white Bonobos Soft Everday Tee.
Photo: Rozette Rago

What we like: Our boxier, more relaxed white T-shirt pick. Extremely soft with some stretch and sturdily constructed. Especially loved by our plus-size testers for quality, fit, and comfort. 100% cotton.

Other things to know: Generous fit may not work for people with smaller frames. Limited availability in white, but still a great tee available in a variety of other colors and sizes. Use code SALTY.

Our budget pick for best carry-on luggage, the Travelpro Maxlite 5 21-inch Carry-On Spinner.
Photo: Connie Park

What we like: Our budget pick for the best carry-on luggage. Remarkably well priced for a reputable brand. An ideal lightweight pick that provides many of the same features of luggage costing nearly twice as much.

Other things to know: Manufacturing defects in the wheels, zippers, and handles are covered for as long as you own the bag. Airline damage and shipping to a Travelpro repair center are covered only for the first year. Clip the on-page coupon. Deal available for black, pink, slate green, and Champagne colors. Delayed shipping.

Our upgrade pick for best MacBook, the 2024, M3 Apple MacBook Air, 15-inch.
Photo: Dave Gershgorn

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best MacBook. A significantly larger screen and better speakers only adds more to like to the MacBook Air lineup. Powerful M3 processor is significantly faster than older models and can power two external displays.

Other things to know: Better for editing audio or video than the 13-inch version. Has two Thunderbolt USB-C ports capable of 40 gigabits per second, a MagSafe 3 port, and a headphone jack. Deal for our recommended specs, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD.

What we like: A specced out version of our upgrade pick for the best MacBook. Large, vibrant display. Sharp 1080p notched webcam. Slim, lightweight design includes a MagSafe charging port, two USB-C ports, and headphone jack. Great for editing audio, photos, and videos.

Other things to know: Specs include M3 processor, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD—notably more than the base model's 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. Better for more intensive tasks. M4 isn't far off (probably). Can power two external displays.

Apple MacBook Air (M2, 2022, 13-Inch, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $800; street price: $950
Best Buy deal price: $800; street price: $950

What we like: Our top pick for the best MacBook. Compared with previous generations it has a brighter display, better webcam, MagSafe magnetic port, and other design updates that make for an overall better experience. Great option for everyday work tasks, browsing, streaming media, and playing App Store games.

Other things to know: We think the less expensive M2-based model is a better buy than the newer M3 MacBook unless you want to use two monitors. Not ideal for editing or processing large media files for extended periods. Comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD.

What we like: Our budget pick from our guide to the best MacBooks. Still enough processing power, memory, and storage for most day-to-day work. Approximately 14-hour battery life. Lightweight with solid construction, a comfortable keyboard, and industry-leading customer support.

Other things to know: M1 processor is starting to show its age after three years. Comes with 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, 13.3-inch Retina display, one 3.5mm jack, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Apple iPad Pro (11-inch, M4, 256 GB) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $900; street price: $1,000

What we like: Our top pick for the best pro tablet includes plenty of upgrades over the previous generation. M4 chip is very competitive against the processing power of modern Windows laptops. Vibrant OLED display. Work seamlessly within an iOS system. iPadOS is easy to use and simple to update, back up, and restore.

Other things to know: Still isn’t a great laptop replacement. Coders, web developers, media editors, and anyone who needs to use a lot of external accessories are likely to find iPadOS limiting. Isn’t user-repairable. No headphone jack. Clip the on-page coupon.

Apple iPad (10th-generation, 64 GB) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $300; street price: $340

What we like: Our top iPad tablet pick. Ditches the Home button and offers more color options, faster processing power, better rear cameras, USB-C, and an improved FaceTime camera over the 9th-gen iPad, which has been discontinued. Retains the 10-hour battery life of its predecessors.

Other things to know: No headphone jack or home button. Swaps out Lightning port for USB-C.

Apple AirPods Max Headphones — Another Good Option
Amazon deal price: $395; street price: $470

What we like: Another good pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones if you’re willing to pay more for the absolute best active noise cancellation and a more-luxurious design. Sleek and distinctive look. Pairs with Apple products effortlessly. Excellent call quality. Replaceable battery.

Other things to know: Too hefty for all-day wear. Supports Dolby Atmos and Apple spatial audio, but not Apple Music’s lossless audio. 3.5 mm cable not included. ANC isn't adjustable, so it can cause eardrum suck. Case doesn't protect headband or keep debris out of earcups.

What we like: Our top pick for the best smartwatch for iPhone owners. Offers the best combination of style, health and fitness features, app selection, battery life, and price of any smartwatch for any platform. More premium features than previous models.

Other things to know: Battery easily lasts for a day on a charge, but if you’re doing anything demanding you may find your watch in power reserve mode by the end of the day. 41 mm face size, Aluminum Case, Sport Loop, and only GPS enabled.

Apple Watch Series 9 (41 mm, Aluminum Case) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $300; street price: $350

Target deal price: $300; street price: $350

What we like: Our top pick for the best smartwatch for iPhone owners. Offers the best combination of style, health and fitness features, app selection, battery life, and price of any smartwatch for any platform. More premium features than previous models.

Other things to know: Battery easily lasts for a day on a charge, but if you’re doing anything demanding you may find your watch in power reserve mode by the end of the day. 41 mm face size, aluminum case, comes with GPS but not cellular. Limited colors.

Apple Watch SE (2nd generation, 40 mm, Aluminum Case, Sport Loop) — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $170; street price: $230
Walmart deal price: $170; street price: $230

What we like: Our budget pick for the best smartwatch for iPhone owners. Performs most of the same Apple Watch-y functions as more expensive models, including push notifications, heart-rate monitoring, and crash detection. Water-resistant up to 50 meters.

Other things to know: Lacks premium features. Deal is for the GPS-enabled model with 40 mm face size, aluminum case, and sport loop. Lowest price we've seen this year, available in limited colors.

Apple AirTag Bluetooth Tracker (4-Pack) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $75; street price: $100

What we like: Our pick for the best Bluetooth tracker for iPhone users. Impressively accurate in pinpointing an item’s precise location. Leverages Apple’s extensive Find My network. Can swap in a new battery as needed. Water-resistant.

Other things to know: Doesn’t have any way to ring your phone. Cannot attach to your stuff directly. Cannot be shared with another person. Sales on four-packs typically offer the best price per tracker. This deal matches the lowest price we've seen to date.

Apple AirTag Bluetooth Tracker — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $24; street price: $29
Walmart deal price: $24; street price: $29

What we like: Our pick for the best Bluetooth tracker for iOS users leverages Apple’s huge network of devices to find lost goods. Impressively accurate. Replaceable coin battery. If you lose an AirTag (or an item containing or attached to one), you can use the Find My app to see its location or ask Siri to trigger an audible alert.

Other things to know: Doesn’t have any way to ring your phone. No built-in method of attaching to anything. The four-pack typically offers a better price per tracker—but if you only need one, this is a decent, though recurring, sale price.

Our Deals team is continuing to find the best Apple deals throughout Prime Day.

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 (CP714-2W-56B2) — Upgrade Pick
Best Buy deal price: $470; street price: $650

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best Chromebook. A great choice if you want a lighter Chromebook with longer battery life, more storage, and a more flattering 1440p webcam. Reliable keyboard and trackpad. Vivid 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen display.

Other things to know: It’s uncomfortable to hold as a tablet. Comes with our recommended specs of Intel Core i5-1335U processor, 8 GB of memory, and 256 GB SSD. Has guaranteed update support through June 2032.

What we like: Another good Chromebook for streaming games. The only model with an Ethernet port to provide a reliable internet connection for streaming. Has a vivid 16-inch, 2560×1600 display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a responsive, comfortable RGB keyboard.

Other things to know: We don’t recommend getting a Chromebook to stream games over Wi-Fi; you're likely to encounter frustrating hiccups. Specs include Intel Core i5-1240P processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD. Deal matches previous low.

Dell S2722QC 27-Inch Monitor — Budget Pick
Dell deal price: $250; street price: $320

What we like: Our budget pick for the best 4K monitor. A great high-resolution monitor that balances high-end features with a competitive price. Offers impressive contrast and color accuracy, plus USB-C connectivity to keep your laptop charged while it’s attached to the display.

Other things to know: Comes covered by Dell’s Premium Panel Exchange policy. Includes USB hub with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports, two HDMI ports, and one USB-C port. Refresh rate is not ideal for gaming.

Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 (256 GB) — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $374; street price: $500

What we like: Our budget pick for the best Chromebook. A less expensive option that doesn’t sacrifice performance. Can handle everyday workloads with ease. Has a comfortable, backlit keyboard and a light, compact body. Will last about a full day of work or classes on a charge.

Other things to know: Its non-touch display isn’t as tall, vibrant, or convenient as that of our top pick. Has a 1080p webcam with a built-in privacy shutter and a variety of useful ports.

Asus ROG Strix XG349C Monitor (34-inch) — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $650; street price: $780

What we like: Our ultrawide monitor pick for gaming. High refresh rate and deeply curved, ultrawide screen for a more immersive feel.  Good color accuracy, a solid stand, and a refresh rate that can reach 180 Hz. Convenient USB hub.

Other things to know: Monitor’s USB-C port doesn’t supply enough power to charge most laptops. Curved screen not ideal for photo or design work. New low price.

Asus ZenScreen MB16ACV Portable Monitor — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $160; street price: $210

What we like: Our top pick for a simple, high-quality portable monitor. 15.6-inch display with sharp 1080p resolution. Integrated stand lets you use it in landscape and portrait orientations with ease. Bright screen makes it a great second work monitor.

Walmart deal price: $270; street price: $320

What we like: Our pick for a stylish and attractive Android watch. Runs on the latest wearable processor. Compact, elegant design. One of the most comfortable smartwatches we’ve tested. Curvy aluminum design and a small yet vibrant display. Pairs best with Pixel phones.

Other things to know: Domed glass face can be hard to repair. Comes in just one size. Proprietary band connector makes it tough to find compatible smartwatch straps. Bluetooth- and Wi-Fi-enabled.

Google Pixel 8a (128 GB, Unlocked) — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $450; street price: $500

What we like: Our budget Android phone pick. 6.1-inch screen has same 120Hz OLED display as Pixel 8. Mostly lived up to Google's 24-hour battery life claim. IP67 water-resistance rating. Face Unlock and fingerprint scanner. All the same AI features as pricier Pixel models.

Other things to know: Guaranteed updates until 2031. Body and cameras are less high-end than Pixel 8. Graphics-heavy games drain battery. Specs include Google’s Tensor G3 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage. Deal is for unlocked phone in all colors.

Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 Smartwatch — Our Pick
Walmart deal price: $228; street price: $300

What we like: Our pick for a long-lasting Android smartwatch. Compact, comfortable design. Runs nearly seven days between recharges. Low-power mode maintains basic functionality for weeks. Dual-layer display. Fast, powerful Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor.

Other things to know: Doesn’t feel as high-end as Samsung’s watches. Uses an older version of Wear OS. Only provides basic health tracking. Phone app is clunky. Amazon Alexa is the only voice-assistant option. Available in two neutral color options. Recurring deal price. Clip the on-page coupon.

Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 Smartwatch — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $228; street price: $300

Other things to know: 64 GB storage. Low-resolution 1280 x 800 screen. Doesn’t have access to the Google Play store or any of Google’s apps. Comes with lock-screen display ads that can be disabled for an extra $15.

What we like: Our smaller Android phone pick. Comes with a marginally larger screen and battery than last year’s Galaxy S23. Has the same powerful chip and AI features as the S24 Ultra. It’s more compact than the Ultra, and it promises software updates until early 2031.

Other things to know: Has a flat-edged 1080p OLED screen and produces sharp and vibrant colors, albeit at a lower resolution than the Pixel 8 Pro. Deal for the 256 GB model.

What we like: Our pick for the most powerful Android phone. Combines a top-tier display, a powerful processor, a stylus, a new titanium frame, and new AI Galaxy AI features, plus seven years of committed security and software updates. Cameras outperform those of any Android phones that aren’t in Google’s Pixel line.

iOttie iTap Magnetic 2 Air Vent Mount — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $19; street price: $25

What we like: Our top pick for the best car vent phone mount. Strong magnetic grip securely holds phone in a car's vent slats. Supports most phones vertically and horizontally over rough terrain. Easy to set up.

Other things to know: Requires putting a magnetic plate on or under phone case. Only the large, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 Plus, and Pixel 7 Pro gave them some trouble when held horizontally.

Amazon deal price: $700; street price: $900

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best Android phone. Has a larger OLED screen than the our top pick, with a higher resolution and refresh rate, as well as a 5x telephoto camera. Excellent software and seven years of update support. Best battery life of any Pixel phone.

Other things to know: More expensive than previous Pro models. New temperature sensor feature is not particularly useful. Deal is for an unlocked phone with 128 GB of internal storage.

Other things to know: Its front pocket, which barely holds a laptop charger, adds bulk. Surprisingly attractive, but not particularly sleek or refined. Deal price is for the black color that fits a 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Google Pixel Tablet (128 GB) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $350; street price: $470

What we like: Our top Android tablet pick has a long-lasting battery and Google’s latest processor, which allows it to capably handle gaming, streaming media, and light work tasks. The stunning 11-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 2560×1600. Included speaker dock turns it into an excellent smart-home device.

Other things to know: Scheduled to receive system updates through 2026 and security updates through 2028. Stylus support is limited so if you want a tablet that you can draw or write on, this one may not be right for your needs.

Amazon deal price: $500; street price: $620

What we like: Our top pick for the best Android smartphone offers the best version of Android with guaranteed security updates through fall 2030. Has one of the best smartphone cameras we've tested. Excellent build quality. Crisp 6.2-inch OLED display and solid wrap-around aluminum frame.

Other things to know: Used to be affordable in comparison with Apple and Samsung flagship phones, but Google hiked the prices of the Pixel 8 lineup. Videos can often look a little grainy, but have good color reproduction. Deal is for an unlocked phone with 128 GB of internal storage.

Anker 555 USB-C Hub (8-in-1) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: Our top USB hub pick. Supports 4K video signal at 60 Hz. Has the connectors most people need most of the time, and in our tests those ports worked as well as expected. Powerful enough to use at your desk full-time. Small enough to take on the go.

Other things to know: Formerly known as the PowerExpand 8-in-1 USB-C PD 10Gbps data hub. The two side-by-side USB-A ports are somewhat cramped. Gets hot during use, but not to a dangerous level. Recurring deal price.

Other things to know: Worse screen and a much more limited app selection compared to our top pick but a fraction of the price. Deal is for the 32 GB in blue.

Tile Mate Bluetooth Tracker (2022) — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $18; street price: $25

What we like: Our Bluetooth tracker pick for Android users. Large, anonymous crowd-finding network. Loud alarm volume. Impressive local Bluetooth range. Simple setup. Built-in keychain loop. Can remotely trigger a lost phone to ring.

Other things to know: No replaceable battery (Tile promises a 3-year effective working lifespan). Worse short-range precision than Apple AirTags. Not the best price we've seen for a single Tile Mate, but still a solid deal.

What we like: Our budget pick for best Android tablet. Surprisingly good for watching videos, reading, or very light web browsing. Best suited to Amazon Prime videos and other Amazon content. USB-C charging (finally).

What we like: Our pick for the best basic iPhone 14 case. A great slim, protective, and affordable case. MagSafe compatible. Has enough give to make it easy to install on your phone but not so much that it will stretch out. Wirecutter-recommended since the iPhone 7.

Other things to know: Though the Gripmunk case checks all the boxes, it’s plain. Deal includes most solid colors for all versions of this case: standard iPhone 14, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max. Lowest price is on the transparent color.

The 2022 edition of the Amazon Kindle in blue, displaying the first page of a book.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

Historically, Amazon’s Kindle e-readers are among the most reliable items on sale for Prime Day. This year, however, neither our top pick (the Amazon Kindle) nor our upgrade pick (the Kindle Paperwhite) has been significantly discounted. Last year, the Kindle was discounted to $80; this year, it’s $85. The Paperwhite is currently $135, whereas last year it was between $100 and $115. We will continue to monitor these products and update this post if more meaningful sales appear.

Other things to know: Compatible with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. Delivers 2K images while viewing live or recording to a microSD card, but downgrades to 1080p when storing on NAS devices and in the cloud. Eufy has had security issues in the past.

Amazon deal price: $55; street price: $85

What we like: Another good option we like if you want a corded outdoor security camera we like if you want to stick within the Ring ecosystem. Delivers crisp, 1080p video with an expansive 130-degree view and clear two-way audio. Includes a lengthy, weather-resistant power cord, but can also be powered by battery or a solar panel.

Other things to know: Former pick we still like. Despite some previous issues, Ring now provides more privacy and security measures than any other camera manufacturer we tested. Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Works With Ring. Requires Ring Protect Basic subscription for the most functionality.

Eufy S221 EufyCam Outdoor Security Camera — Also Great
Best Buy deal price: $240; street price: $330

What we like: Our set it and forget it (for a while) outdoor security camera pick. Captures excellent images and audio. Free perks include the ability to record 2K video and store in base station, and the ability to differentiate between humans and other moving things. Three video storage options.

Other things to know: Battery lasts between four to 12 months depending on camera placement and how often it's triggered. Object detection could be better. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. Includes two cameras and base station.

What we like: Our top pick for the best smart plug. Combines all of the best features you can find in a smart plug at a price that makes it possible to deploy them throughout your home. Real-time energy monitoring makes the EP25 a standout. Also offers an Away Mode.

Other things to know: Sold in packs of two or four. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. Works with the Kasa app but also the newly released Tapo app, which is the better option. Deal for a pack of four.

What we like: Our multiplug smart plug pick. Comes with six individually controlled smart outlets to schedule different devices and three USB-A ports. Supports energy monitoring. Can be voice-controlled via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.   Things to know: Surge protection is passable but not exceptional (we would recommend our surge protector picks). Doesn’t provide info on the actual energy consumption.

YoLink Water Leak Detector 4 — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $16; street price: $24

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best smart leak detector. Simple and responsive, and easily integrates into Amazon Alexa or IFTTT setups. Top- and bottom-mounted probes give leak coverage to drips and floods.

Other things to know: Requires a YoLink Hub in order to connect to your home network. Super-long wireless range advertises up to a quarter-mile away, our tests to a detached garage 125 feet away worked without a hitch. Sensor runs off two AAA batteries.

What we like: Another good set of cheap string lights we like in our smart outdoor lighting guide. Affordably priced and available in a 48-foot set and a 96-foot set. They provide far more special-effects options than our string light pick.

Other things to know: Overwhelming app. The strands have fewer bulbs per foot than our string-lights pick, and they don’t feel as sturdy. Frosted bulbs. Deal is for the 96-foot length; be sure to clip the on-page coupon.

Yale Assure Lock 2 — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $174; street price: $225
Amazon deal price: $190; street price: $225

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best smart lock. Simple, intuitive keypad with physical buttons. Can also use key. Included sensor tells you if door is left open. Sends notifications even if disconnected from Wi-Fi. Heavy-duty all-metal housings. More advanced smart features in app.

Other things to know: No fingerprint reader. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. Installation can be finicky. Included wireless module needs to be installed at a specific time before putting batteries in. Satin nickel color is $174; other colors are down to $190.

Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $160; street price: $190

What we like: Our less-feature-packed top pick for the best smart thermostat. Functions identically to our top pick. A great, less expensive option if you have a smaller home or don’t need a remote sensor or voice controls.

Other things to know: Less-refined hardware than the Premium model; lacks Alexa speaker, remote sensor, and air-quality monitor. Compatible with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.

Schlage Encode WiFi Lever Smart Lock — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $227; street price: $300

What we like: Our smart-doorknob replacement pick. Nearly identical to our top smart lock, but replaces a doorknob—not a deadbolt. Accessibility-friendly lever handle. Offers keypad, physical keyway, and remote app access.

Other things to know: Compatible with Alexa and Google Home. Auto-locks by default. Has physical lock/unlock buttons on the non-keypad housing, which makes it easier to use than others. Deal on satin nickel or matte black. Lowest price we've seen since it became a pick.

What we like: Our pick for the best battery-operated smart doorbell camera. Solid performance with exceptional battery life. Sharp 2K image with local or cloud storage options. (Cloud offers 30 days of history for $3 per month or $30 per year, per camera.)

Other things to know: Matches low. Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Recordings are limited to 60 seconds. Gaps between recordings can last around 8 seconds. Includes Eufy HomeBase. Clip the on-page coupon to get the deal price.

Ring Battery Doorbell Plus — Another Good Option
amazon deal price: $100; street price: $150

What we like: Another good smart doorbell camera if you prefer a camera with a removable rechargeable battery. Records in clear, 1536p HD video, in a square 1:1 aspect ratio, with a 150-by-150-degree field of view. Allows you to record until motion stops (for up to 30 seconds) or have it set to record between 15 and 120 seconds every time.

Other things to know: We prefer the long-term battery life and recording quality of our wireless pick, the Eufy S220. Having it set to record for a certain amount of time will drain the battery quicker.

What we like: Former runner-up smart doorbell camera pick that's still a good option if you want the performance of a hardwired model without paying for a subscription. Features 2K image, person detection, local storage, customizable responses, and separate wireless chime.

Other things to know: Draws power from existing doorbell wires but doesn’t work with an existing chime. Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can opt for Eufy’s cloud service, which offers 30 days of history for $3 per month per camera or $30 per year per camera. While we've seen this deal multiple times in the past, we've yet to see it drop lower.

Eufy Floodlight Camera E340 — Upcoming Pick
Amazon deal price: $150; street price: $220
Walmart deal price: $150; street price: $220

What we like: An upcoming in our outdoor security camera guide. The only floodlight camera we tested that has two cameras, both of which pan and tilt 360 degrees horizontally and 120 degrees vertically. Bright, dimmable lighting.

Other things to know: Free internal video storage or cloud storage with a subscription. Hardwired. Amazon Alexa and Google Home (light only) compatibility.

Aqara Smart Lock U100 — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $133; street price: $190

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best smart lock is a fast, quiet, largely friendly deadbolt replacement. Offers an excellent fingerprint reader and Apple Home Key compatibility. We've been testing and using the brand’s products for a few years and are impressed by the company’s ever-growing ecosystem.

Other things to know: U100 doesn’t have WiFi built-in, remote access or notifications requires the use of either an Apple Home hub device or an Aqara hub. If you mess up too often, you get (temporarily) locked out. On sale in the gray color.

What we like: Our runner-up smart LED light bulb pick. Works with every major smart-home platform, notably Apple’s HomeKit, without needing a hub. Can be triggered by voice command. Less expensive than most other HomeKit-compatible bulbs.

Other things to know: All major smart-home apps work, but Meross pushes you to use Apple Home. The Meross app isn’t difficult to use, but it's a bit clunky. Doesn’t offer any special effects. Deal is for a pack of two. Clip on-page coupon for deal price.

Our pick for the best Wi-Fi mesh networking kit the Asus ZenWiFi AC (CT8).
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best Wi-Fi mesh-networking system. Ideal if you have gigabit internet (or plan to get it). Supports Wi-Fi 6 and improved WPA3 security. Significantly faster than our top pick. Has extra, useful ports.

Other things to know: Extra Ethernet ports support a wired connection between a router and satellites or connect directly to a PC or console. USB port can be used for network storage with a portable SSD, as a printer connection, or with a cellular modem.

What we like: Our top pick for the best Wi-Fi mesh-networking kit. Simple set up. Monitor and control remotely via mobile app. Steady Wi-Fi even on busy networks. Surpasses pricier options.

Other things to know: One router and two extenders. Doesn't support internet speeds faster than 500 Mbps. Lacks multiple ethernet ports.

TP-Link Archer A8 Wi-Fi Router — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $50; street price: $60

What we like: Our budget pick for the best Wi-Fi router. Good speed and reliable for smaller homes or fewer devices. Outperformed routers that cost three times the price.

Other things to know: Performs better at a close range, and is noticeably slower at longer ranges. Compatible with TP-Link OneMesh extenders, but is not as flexible as mesh-networking kits.

What we like: Our budget pick for best Wi-Fi mesh-networking kit. Outperformed some more expensive mesh networks. We believe it would work well with up to 50 devices on the network, and if you have 500 Mbps internet service or slower. Easy to set up and administer.

Other things to know: Fewer features than pricier models. Lacks WPA3 security. Only has two Ethernet ports per node. If you have an internet plan faster than 500 Mbps, the Deco S4 might limit speeds in some situations.

What we like: Our budget pick for the best powerline networking kit. Solid value for cost, and notably cheaper than other powerline networking adapters. Single ethernet connection per adapter isn't as convenient as multiple ports but still plenty fast enough to stream 4K video.

Other things to know: Notably slower (35%-40%) than our top picks. Will slow down faster powerline adapters if you mix and match (powerline networks function at the speed of the slowest connection).

The Joystar Totem resting on its training wheels.

Joystar Totem Kids Bike — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $112; street price: $140

What we like: Our budget pick for the best first pedal bike was the top contender among the sub-$200 bikes we tested. Simple to put together, sturdy, and unfussy. Geometry was comfortable enough for our younger testers, and allowed our experienced 7-year-old tester to accelerate quickly and charge up hills.

Other things to know: Its steel frame makes it much heavier than our other picks (20.5 pounds). Likely to be more than 40% of your child’s weight, the recommended maximum, but many children do fine with heavier bikes. On sale in several colors, including ivory, blue, and pink.

Magna-Tiles (100-Piece Set) — Staff Favorite
Amazon deal price: $84; street price: $120

What we like: A tried-and-true staff favorite from our guide to the best STEM toys. Magnets make cleanup a breeze. Vibrant colors and fun shapes help stimulate imagination. An endless possibility of shapes and designs to be made.

Other things to know: Abstract and complicated shapes can be frustrating for early preschoolers. A solid discount.

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Card Game — Gift Pick
Amazon deal price: $8; street price: $10

What we like: A fast-paced party game from our guide to the best gifts for 5-year-olds. Simple to learn. Simpler to play. Shout the name of the card (Taco! Goat! Pizza!) and slap the pile when you get a matching pair.

Other things to know: Officially recommended for kids over 8, but our test players ages ranged from 4 to 72 (they had a great time).

Kiddey Ball Pit Play Tent — Gift Pick
Amazon deal price: $23; street price: $30

What we like: This indoor/outdoor pop-up ball-pit tent is a 2-year-old's dream. Six sides and open top offers contained-not-claustrophobic space for active play. Comfortably holds two kids and an adult.

Other things to know: Balls sold separately. Included storage bag is for tent only; you’ll need a separate container to hold the balls.

What we like: Dissolve for about five minutes. Release an ample amount of fizz. Come in six pleasantly sweet, fruity scents. The toys aren't anything special, but the surprise element is fun.

Other things to know: Kids had a hard time prying open the plastic balls the toys come in. Six bath bombs included in the Valentine-themed box.

Lego Tree House 21318 — Staff Favorite
Amazon deal price: $166; street price: $200

What we like: A Lego set we mention in our guide to becoming an adult Lego master. Great for play or display. Features three cabins, four figures, a tree with interchangeable summer and fall leaves, and accessories like a swing and a bird house. 3,036 pieces total.

Other things to know: Recommended for ages 16+. We've seen it drop slightly lower before, but this discount is still a decent value.

Lego Tiny Plants 10329 — Another Good Option
Target deal price: $40; street price: $50
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: Another good option we're currently testing from Lego's Botanical Collection. Builds nine different arid, tropical, and carnivorous plants, plus accompanying terracotta pots. Great for those who don't want (or tend to kill) live plants.

Other things to know: Even though it's labeled for people 18 and up, we're currently testing it with younger builders. Minimal sunlight required.

SunNordic Kubb Yard Game Set — Gift Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: An ancient Swedish outdoor game recommended in several Wirecutter gift guides. It’s simple, satisfying, and terrific for groups. All about throwing things at other things, blocks of wood in this case. The best players use strategy to get ahead of opponents.

Other things to know: The rubberwood set comes in a sturdy canvas bag, so it’s easy to take to the park, beach, or nearest frozen pond. Deal for the classic garden grade set.

Qwixx Dice Game — Staff Favorite
Amazon deal price: $7; street price: $10

What we like: Our favorite roll-and-write Yahtzee alternative that anyone can jump into. The simplest game recommended by our board game expert. Stands out thanks to its short rule book and gameplay that’s easy to explain and understand.

Other things to know: Takes about 10 minutes to play once you get into the rhythm. Can be played by one to five players, working at any player count.

HTC Vive Pro 2 VR Headset — Upgrade Pick
Amazon deal price: $550; street price: $775

What we like: Our upgrade VR headset pick. Features a crisp 5K resolution screen, with detailed position and motion tracking in a whole room. 120 degree field of view. 120 Hz refresh rate. Offers access to enormous library of VR’s best games. Comes with on-ear headphones.

Other things to know: Heavy and may be uncomfortable to wear for long periods. You’ll need a high-end computer to make the most of it.

Meta Quest 3 VR Headset (128 GB) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $430; street price: $500
Best Buy deal price: $430; street price: $500

What we like: Our top pick for the best standalone VR headset has a cord-free design and convincing hand tracking, with the added option to plug it in to a PC to access more-powerful games. Controllers are intuitive and easy to hold. Has a wide selection of compatible content.

Other things to know: The battery life is just okay, around two hours in our testing. Strap lacks padding and doesn’t distribute weight on the back of the head as well as a halo-style strap. The controllers lost sight of our hands more often than headsets with exterior sensors.

What we like: Our handheld flexible game console pick. The Switch Lite is more affordable, better for small hands, light to carry, and plays the same great content as other Switch models. This bundle includes full Animal Crossing download and the console has (subtle) Animal Crossing styling.

Other things to know: Handheld-only—built-in controls can’t be detached. 5.5-inch screen. No kickstand. Best for someone who doesn’t care about connecting to a TV, or as a second Switch for a family member with smaller hands.

What we like: A nice-to-have gift card for owners of the Nintendo Switch, the most flexible pick in our game console guide. Essentially free money toward your next Nintendo eShop purchase. Keep for yourself or send to someone else as a gift.

Other things to know: Redeemable for a single Nintendo account through the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS family of systems. A recurring deal, but free money. Use promo code FANDUA5299.

Razer Basilisk V3 Gaming Mouse — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: Our top pick for the best gaming mouse. Comfortable for most hand sizes and grip types. Plenty of well-placed, responsive buttons. Customizable RGB underglow lighting. Optical switches avoid the double-click issue mechanical switches can have.

Other things to know: Buttons are easy to press on purpose but hard to click by accident. Ability to toggle between ratcheted and smooth scrolling. Razer’s Synapse 3 software doesn’t work on macOS. Textured plastic can feel cheap.

HP Omen 27k 4K Gaming Monitor (27-Inch) — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $370; street price: $460

What we like: Our pick for the best 4K gaming monitor. A good option for work-from-home types whose monitors pull double-duty for work and play. Useful features include HDMI 2.1 port, KVM switch, and a 144 Hz refresh rate with 1 ms response time. Has a sophisticated, understated design, and the RGB lighting on the back manages to not look garish.

Other things to know: Requires beefier GPU to support high refresh rate. The stand raises and lowers, tilts up and down, swivels side to side, and also rotates 90 degrees to a portrait orientation.

8BitDo Ultimate C 2.4G PC Controller — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $24; street price: $30

What we like: Our budget pick for the best PC gaming controller. Offers similar functions to the official Xbox controller at half the price. Center button pulls up the Microsoft Game Bar overlay on PCs. Easy to program Turbo button works well for retro-style games.

Other things to know: Compact shape is suitable for small hands. Connects through a wireless USB-A dongle. Difficult to remap the controls. Not compatible with game consoles (aside from DIY Raspberry Pi systems). Deal price for the field green color.

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best wireless gaming headset. The best headset we've tested in the past year, with rich, enveloping sound and superb clarity. Light and comfortable, and able to adjust to a generous range of head sizes.

Other things to know: Does not support Bluetooth, can only be used with included USB dongle. That means incompatible with Xbox consoles (but not PC). Detachable microphone sounds excellent. Kingston claims 120 hour battery life, with an auto-shutoff feature for conserving battery. Deal available for the black/red.

A Sony ZV-1 II camera.

Sony ZV-1 II Camera — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $800; street price: $900
Dell deal price: $800; street price: $900
Best Buy deal price: $800; street price: $900

What we like: Our camera pick for vlogging outdoors and on the go. Compact, light, and able to record stabilized 4K video. Flip-out screen is great for easily framing selfies. Built-in optical image stabilization smooths movements. Designed explicitly for vlogging.

Other things to know: Records 4K video at 30 fps or 1080p at 120 fps. Top-mounted directional mic records stereo audio. Stacked 1-inch sensor and f/1.8–4 Zeiss lens with 2.8x zoom. Menu and button layout aren't very intuitive. Matches previous low. Deal price on both black and white.

Fujifilm Instax Mini Link 2 Instant Photo Printer — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $90; street price: $100
B&H deal price: $90; street price: $100

What we like: Our top pick for best instant photo printer. Ultra-portable and compact. Quickly delivers vibrant, credit-card-sized film-like prints. Easy to set up and use with an intuitive app.

Other things to know: Printer body feels fragile. Prints take 4-6 minutes to fully develop and may lack fine detail and clarity. Uses the same film packs as Fujifilm’s Instax cameras. Recurring deal price.

Ricoh WG-80 Waterproof Camera — Budget Pick
B&H deal price: $267; street price: $300

What we like: Our budget waterproof camera pick and a pick in our guide to the best beach and surf gear. A good option for people who prize a lower price over best-in-class image quality—colors can be off sometimes, but are typically okay in natural light.

Other things to know: Waterproof to around 46 feet; drop-proof to about 5 feet. It can’t capture video in 4K, and lacks Wi-Fi to transfer images to a smartphone.

DJI Mini 3 Drone with DJI RC Remote — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $430; street price: $550

What we like: Our budget pick for the best drones for photos and videos bundled with the DJI RC. Impressive starter drone. Costs less than half as much as our top pick. Offers a 4K camera that can shoot in portrait or landscape orientation, a long (31-minute) battery life, and a compact, lightweight build that just slides under the FAA’s 250-gram limit.

Other things to know: Does not include obstacle avoidance. Camera and sensor aren’t as high-quality as those of our top pick. Includes the DJI RC video remote, with built-in 5.5-inch display.

Samsung Pro Plus microSD Card (512 GB) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $57

What we like: Our top pick for the best microSD card. Exceedingly easy to find, speedy, and inexpensive compared to rivals. It has the storage space for dozens of game downloads or hours of 4k drone footage.

Other things to know: Can function as the boot drive or storage for a kit PC like the Raspberry Pi. Unfortunately, the street price has risen recently.

DJI Air 2S Drone (Fly More Combo) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $1,239; street price: $1,533
B&H deal price: $1,239; street price: $1,533
Best Buy deal price: $1,239; street price: $1,533

What we like: Our top photo and video drone pick. High-quality 5.4K camera. Stable even in moderate winds. Can sense and avoid obstacles approaching from front, back, top, and bottom. Smart flight modes greatly reduce risk of crashes. Easy to fold and stow away. Impressive 31-minute battery life.

Other things to know: Lacks the side sensors of our upgrade pick. Controller doesn't have a built-in screen. Two-year warranty. Bundle includes two extra batteries, four pairs of propellers, a gimbal protector, battery charging hub and battery-to-power-bank adapter and shoulder bag.

Zhiyun Smooth Q4 Gimbal — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $84; street price: $100

What we like: Our budget gimbal pick for both Android and iPhones. Larger and not quite as easy to use as our top pick, but performs similarly as well. Built-in extendable selfie stick. Long battery life. Good app. Great battery life.

Other things to know: Its subject tracking is okay, but not as good as that of our other picks. Comes with a removable tripod and a charging cable. One-year warranty.

Read more: The Best Coolers

What we like: Another good spatial repellent we like for the right price. From our guide to the best mosquito control gear for your patio or yard. Just as effective and easy to use as our current top pick. Comes in a few different colors

Other things to know: Our former top pick. Notably shorter battery life of 5.5 hours, compared to the 9 hours of our current top pick, but a worthwhile tradeoff for the sale price. Rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes the E55 more convenient than butane-cartridge options.

Tiki Fire Pit — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $280; street price: $350

What we like: Our pick for an easy-to-clean, relaxed-looking smokeless fire pit. Will blend in on your patio. Sturdy with a good-looking, wide rim. Simple-to-withdraw ash-collection plate makes cleaning after use fairly easy. Comes with a cover.

Other things to know: Like all smokeless fire pits, doesn’t radiate much heat. Ashtray feels flimsy. 2-year limited warranty. Has seen an increase in street price, but we also saw lower prices during the holiday season.

MIU Color Outdoor Picnic Blanket — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $16; street price: $23

What we like: Our budget pick for the best picnic blanket. Easy to clean. Tough, spill-proof polyester fabric that will last. Folds down to 12½ by 7½ inches for easy transport.

Other things to know: Feels similar to outdoor lawn furniture or a tablecloth. Not as comfy as our other picks. 80-by-60-inch size. Available in limited colors.

Yeti Lowlands Blanket — Upgrade Pick
Amazon deal price: $130; street price: $180

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best picnic blanket. Sturdy, waterproof underside. Plush, soft, and spill resistant topside. Machine-washable and dryer-safe (the only blanket we tested that can withstand both).

Other things to know: Pricey compared to our other picks. 79- by 55-inch size. Comes with a carrying case. Deal available for the Alpine yellow and Nordic purple colors.

Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket (1-Person) — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $188; street price: $250
Rumpl deal price: $188; street price: $250

What we like: Our top puffy blanket pick. Sturdy, packable, and comfortable. Water-repellent and sustainably sourced down in a soft yet durable nylon shell. Wards off cold better for its price than the competition. Comes in a roll-top stuff sack that keeps out water and doubles as a carry handle.

Other things to know: Lacks functional details like snaps to keep the blanket in place around the shoulders. Has a slight smell. One-person size is on sale in black.

Husqvarna Power Axe 350i Chainsaw — Upgrade Pick
Amazon deal price: $336; street price: $450

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best chainsaw. Has the longest run time of any saw we tested. Excellent cutting speed.

Other things to know: The 350i is one of the priciest chainsaws we tested. Battery and charger included.

Olight Baton 3 Pro Flashlight — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $49; street price: $70

What we like: Our pick for a slightly smaller, rechargeable flashlight. Easiest, most convenient charging setup we’ve seen. A little brighter and has a longer run time than our top pick. Nice double bend pocket clip allows you to clip the light to something with the lens facing either way.

Other things to know: About 4 inches in length. Like all fully rechargeable models, the drawbacks are in the time spent charging it and the difficulty of recharging during a power outage. Most colors on sale.

ThruNite Archer 2A C Flashlight — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $30; street price: $40

What we like: Our top pick for the best flashlight. Waterproof and compact (picture a thick Crayola marker). Stands upright on its end. Wide range of brightness settings. Included rechargeable battery makes the brighter settings more powerful. Can also be powered by two AA batteries.

Other things to know: Very similar to our previous top pick (the 2A V3 model, now our runner-up pick), but is also compatible with its included rechargeable battery. Battery needs to be removed from the flashlight in order to charge. Flimsy belt clip. Recurring price drop.

ThruNite Archer 2A V3 Flashlight — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $23; street price: $30

What we like: Our now-runner-up pick for the best flashlight. Waterproof and compact (picture a thick Crayola marker). Stands upright on its end; doesn't roll on—or off—flat surfaces. Widest range of brightness settings of any AA-battery-powered model we've tested.

Other things to know: Was our longstanding top pick until the arrival of the ThruNite Archer 2A C, which can also run on rechargeable batteries. This model is plenty bright, but not the absolute brightest option we've tested. Flimsy belt clip.

What we like: Our pick for the most powerful cordless leaf blower. Battery-powered blower with an impressively long 27-minute run time on high. Absolute best combination of power, portability, and ease of use.

Other things to know: Not as powerful as corded or gas-powered blowers. On the heavy side at 10 pounds. Still notably more expensive than corded models.

Cooljob Gardening Gloves (2-pack) — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $8; street price: $10

What we like: Our budget pick for the best gardening gloves with latex. Lightweight, breathable and durable. Fit securely during testing.

Other things to know: The elastic around the wrist bothered our testers. The gloves were comfortable, but the backing wore down quickly. But they're cheap and can be ordered in bulk. Deal price for pack of two.

What we like: An upgraded variant of our budget electric scooter pick, the KickScooter F30. More lightweight but accommodates a higher rider weight. Has room for a lock and a longer claimed range.

Other things to know: Weighs 33.3 pounds. Maximum rider weight is 265 pounds. We'd expect the F40 to go a greater distance than the F30, but it's unlikely to hit the claimed range.

G4Free 50L Hiking Emergency Backpack — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: Our pick for an inexpensive to-go bag from our guide to gear for your bug-out bag. Large size easily holds everything. Includes a rain cover and a hydration bladder compartment. Straps on the bottom can hold a full-size sleeping bag.

Other things to know: None of the interior pockets have zippers. Not the most comfortable. Deal price is for the black color pack, other colors also on sale for a bit more.

Thermacell EX90 Mosquito Repellent — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $33; street price: $50

What we like: Our more rugged spatial mosquito repellent pick for camping or other outdoor activities. Same nine-hour battery life and repellent qualities as our top pick. Compact design. Rubbery grip areas on the sides. Comes with lanyard, carabiner, and locking lid.

Other things to know: Wind can drastically affect performance. Only works against mosquitos. Takes about 15 minutes to protect an area.

Best BBQ Grill Brush — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $13; street price: $19

What we like: Our pick for the best grill-grate brush. Three rows of thick-gauge wire bristles. Sturdy construction won’t bend during tough scraping tasks. Comfortable 10-inch plastic handle gives plenty of leverage. Just in time for BBQ season.

Other things to know: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that ingesting grill brush wires can cause nonfatal injuries, but number of reported cases is relatively low. Clip the on-page coupon. Matches the lows we've seen for the past year.

What we like: Our runner-up pick for insect repellent. Same concentration of picaridin as our top pick. Bulk refill bags can reduce waste and costs.

Other things to know: Deal is for the Scent Zero version in an even-spreading spray bottle. (Bottle is less travel friendly than our top pick’s, though it does have a locking feature.)

What we like: A staff favorite in our upcoming piece on water bottle holders. Essentially a crossbody bag outfitted with a bottle pocket. Roomy enough to hold all your essentials (and then some). Accommodates most water bottles and tumblers. Lays flat against your body as you walk.

Other things to know: Expensive, even when on sale. Only comes in a handful of colors. Deal price is for black color.

Saygogo SUV Air Mattress — Staff Favorite
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: A staff-favorite customizable, inflatable mattress for car camping. Has six inflatable chambers that allow it to fit into a wider range of cars, including sedan back seats. Includes a car-compatible air pump, along with two inflatable pillows and a piece that fills backseat footwells. Offers a great value for casual campers.

Other things to know: Has a max weight limit of 380 pounds and can comfortably sleep two adults. It loses a bit of air overnight. Clip the on-page coupon; deal price is on the beige color.

What we like: Our budget pick for the best roll-top dry bag. A classic wallet-friendly roll-top bag that dependably keeps its contents dry. Cross-body strap allows you to wear it on short hikes or bike rides. PVC fabric is strong and durable. Good for the occasional day on the water.

Other things to know: Isn’t as easy to slide inside larger bags as our other other picks due to its rubbery-feeling fabric. Five-year warranty when you register your bag. Strap may not be comfortable to wear for extended periods. Deal is for 10-liter size in various colors.

Saltwater Canvas Whale Bag — Also Great
Saltwater Canvas deal price: $35; street price: $41

What we like: Our mesh beach bag pick for wet or dirty items. Much better quality than cheap imitations. Sand easily falls through the mesh. Nine exterior pockets and one interior zippered pocket. Great for traveling with kids.

Other things to know: A small amount of sand can come in through the bottom, so this bag isn't ideal for holding electronics, but interior zippered pocket and carabiner key ring can secure a few valuables. Price includes shipping.

What we like: Our bike rack pick for car trunks. Lightweight, sturdy, and versatile. Adjusts to fit almost any vehicle. Easy to install. Folds up tightly for storage. Stable during our driving tests, even at higher speeds and with quick stops. A great value if your car can't accommodate a hitch mount.

Other things to know: Not compatible with pickup trucks. Makes contact with the finish on your car, and over time the contact points are likely to cause scratches unless you put something between the padded legs and the vehicle body. Use code NEWFOLLOW15.

What we like: Another good budget lightweight camping chair. The comfiest lightweight chair we tested and has a roomy seat. The arrows printed on the chair’s legs made it one of the easiest to assemble. Has the highest weight capacity rating (400 pounds) of the lightweight chairs we tested. Surprisingly stable on uneven ground.

Other things to know: Its frame did not feel as sturdy as our top picks, and we can’t vouch for its longevity. The version we tested did not have a listed warranty.

Other things to know: Due to the design, some travelers consider trunks to be easier to pack and to maneuver. Does away with the standard zipper closure. Doesn’t have a ton of built-in organization. Lifetime warranty. Use code FREQUENTFYLER. The lowest price we've seen since it became a pick.

What we like: The one-of-a-kind remnant-fabric version of our small carry-on travel backpack pick for most situations. Easy-to-pack clamshell design and highly adjustable straps. Has a rainfly and handles on all four sides. Protected by a full lifetime warranty, with the build quality to back it up. Made with 1680-denier ballistic nylon.

Other things to know: Each Del Dia bag is crafted from remnant materials chosen by factory workers, so you can't choose what color combo you're sent—but it's otherwise the same bag as our pick model. We’d love to see a permanent all-nylon alternative to the TPU-lined front panel, which can flake over time. Minimal built-in administration organization features. Cotopaxi is a B Corp.

What we like: A pick in our guide to the best gifts for frequent travels (and other gift guides). Compact. USB-C and USB-A outputs. 10,000 mAh capacity. Can juice up most smartphones 2 to 3 times. Rounded edges make it easy to slip into a pocket.

Other things to know: A former top pick in our guide to the best portable chargers. Two-year warranty, with solid customer support. Doesn't match the lowest we've seen, but that was likely a one-off sale. Street price has dropped in recent months.

Cincha Travel Belt — Gift Pick
Amazon deal price: $32; street price: $36

What we like: A luggage helper we recommend for frequent travelers. Wide nylon strap with sturdy buckle to keep your carry-on firmly attached to your roller bag. Frees up a hand, shoulder, or back for a smoother trip through the airport.

Other things to know: A hidden elastic loop keeps the belt attached, even when it’s unclasped. Tote bag not included. All color options are on sale. We typically see this drop to $30 during Black Friday/Cyber Week, but it's a decent value.

Epicka Universal Travel Adapter — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $20; street price: $24

What we like: Our top pick for the best travel plug adapter. Contains the three most common international plugs, as well as a US-style plug. Has four standard USB-A ports and one USB-C port. Charged more devices faster than its competitors during our testing.

What we like: Our sound-masking pick for the best sleep headphones. They physically block out noises and can play preloaded sounds or stream audio from your phone. Smaller and far thinner than most true wireless earbuds, but stay in place securely.

Other things to know: May be uncomfortable for side-sleepers with sensitive ears. We found the sound of the built-in alarm a little grating. No snooze button. Certified refurbished model sold through Anker's eBay storefront. Two-year Allstate warranty. Use code SUMMERSAVINGS.

Other things to know: Lack active noise cancellation and hear-through mode. Sound quality isn't as balanced as that of our top pick. Use code EAFRE2SF to get deal. We recently saw a $16 lightning deal for these earbuds, but we doubt they'll drop that low again.

Victrola Rock Speaker Connect — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $76; street price: $100

You can wirelessly connect as many as 20 to make a larger system. Doesn't vibrate or rattle like some other options.

Other things to know: Batteries recharge via USB or a solar panel on top. IP54 rating means it should be fine in the rain (but don't blast it with a hose). Several style options/colors on sale.

Lacks some features found on other models, but our panelists thought it had everything they’d want in an all-in-one record player. We've seen it for $8 less, but this deal is still a good value.

Boy Smells Hinoki Fantôme Candle — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $34; street price: $48

What we like: One of our warm, woodsy scented candle picks that we also like as a Galentine's Day gift. Handsome black glass jar. Earthy and elegant fragrance isn't overpowering. Top note of Japanese cypress (hinoki) smoke with hints of warm amber, sweet vanilla, florals, and fresh moss.

Other things to know: Our testers found this ultra-popular pick lives up to the hype. No lid. 20-hour burn time. Label may be crooked. Glossy vessel may show fingerprints. Not the lowest price we've seen, but street price has gone up by $10 since last year.

What we like: A set of jewel-toned champagne flutes we recommend as a gift. Hand-blown in Poland. A celebratory, whimsical splurge. Put a vibrant twist on the traditional gift of a set of flutes and a bottle of champagne.

Other things to know: Black- and woman-owned company. Hand-wash only. Available in a rainbow of colors. Deal price is for the set of two but the set of six is also on sale.

What we like: Another good essential oil diffuser that is nearly identical to our runner-up pick. Produces strong, rich streams of mist. 500 ml tank is bigger than that of our top pick and allows diffuser to run for up to 16 hours on low-output mode. Lights up in seven colors.

Other things to know: Performs exactly the same as our runner-up pick but faux-wood finish is polarizing. Takes up more space than our top pick. Lid doesn’t snap onto the base, which could be a good or bad thing depending on the person. Use code ASKROCK15 to get deal for A-yellow color.

Jarkyfine Large Window Bird Feeder — Gift Pick
Amazon deal price: $18; street price: $22

What we like: A bird feeder recommended in multiple Wirecutter gift guides. Mounts to the outside of a window with strong suction cups. A  roomy acrylic structure readily accommodate multiple avian visitors. Gives a close of view of feeding birds. Squirrel-proof.

Other things to know: Surprisingly enjoyable for the whole family, including pets. It can get messy, but it’s easy to clean. Add a bag of birdseed, and you have an inexpensive gift that nearly anyone will enjoy.

Mala the Brand Cereal Scented Soy Candle — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $27; street price: $34

What we like: One of our sweet and citrusy scented candle picks. A sophisticated interpretation of Froot Loops. The scent is fruity, flowery, and creamy. Vessel (a tiny paint can) is equally playful and kitschy. Hand-poured in Vancouver, Canada.

Other things to know: Milk not included. Mala the brand plants a tree for every purchase, if you’re looking to support a small, eco-conscious business. Candle can sometimes quickly form deep tunnels (we have tips on how to burn candles more evenly).

ToiletTree Products Bamboo Bath Mat — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $38; street price: $48

What we like: A modern, platform-style wood bath mat we like. Well-constructed and more stable than other wooden mats we tested. Sleek design with a nice finish. Affordable.

Other things to know: Finish held up well to moisture and traffic in long term testing. Doesn't absorb water. Clip the on-page coupon to get the deal price.

Vitruvi Stone Essential Oil Diffuser — Also Great
West Elm deal price: $68; street price: $120

What we like: Our smaller, more stylish essential oil diffuser pick. Compact shape and tapered ceramic shell are ideal for smaller spaces where aesthetics matter. One light with four settings. Emits a decently strong mist. Hidden indicator light is great for use in a bedroom.

Other things to know: Lids can be annoying to remove when refilling or cleaning the unit. Smaller 70 mL tank and less powerful mist than our top pick. Only runs for three hours on a single fill. Deal price is for black at West Elm; use promo code EXTRA20 to get the deal price (shipping is free).

Lepower Wood Tripod Floor Lamp — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $47; street price: $70

What we like: Our pick for the best tripod floor lamp. Adapts to many decor styles. Offers solid rubberwood legs, braided fabric power cord, and convincing faux-linen shade. The 18-inch shade diffuses light warmly and easily fills large spaces with light.

Other things to know: Best for bigger rooms because the legs angle out, creating a larger footprint. The lamp’s stability can be tested if pushed hard enough from the top or from certain angles. Clip on-page coupon to get deal price in brown finish. Lightning deal.

The Brooklinen All-Season Down Comforter folded.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

What we like: Our all-around great down comforter pick bundled with our modern printed sheets pick. Durable sateen comforter is easy to wash and keeps its loft, even after being in storage. 700-fill-power duck down. Long-staple percale sheets feel light and crisp against skin and can endure years of washing.

Other things to know: Down does leak from comforter over time, but overall less than most options we've tested. 365-day return policy. Two-year warranty. Deal price is for a full/queen size all-season comforter and queen size set of one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, and two pillowcases, but the code works on all sizes. Add each to cart separately, remove any existing promo code, and use code WCBUNDLE27.

What we like: Brooklinen products have consistently earned top marks in our guides to the best robes, duvet covers, comforters, sheets, and more. We love their luxe-yet-durable construction, everlasting softness, and modern prints.

Other things to know: Use code WIRECUTTER25 for 25% off sitewide. Free shipping for order of $75 or more. The coupon code drops the price of our Brooklinen duvet cover pick from $160 to $120 in the queen size. Code can't be stacked with other codes.

What we like: Our plush and bouncy innerspring mattress pick. The most affordable option we’ve tried that still looks and feels luxurious. Appealing to those who want to nestle in, as opposed to feeling engulfed. Classic innerspring bounce paired with a cushy but understated three-inch Euro top.

Other things to know: Doesn’t have the best motion isolation. Comes in thicknesses of 11½ and 14½ inches, and you have 365 nights to try it. We recommend the Luxury Firm comfort level. Deal price is for the queen size, but the king size is also discounted.

What we like: Our budget pick for the best memory foam pillow. Also our favorite one-piece foam pillow. Offered some of the best neck and shoulder support without overheating our testers. The lightest of our picks. Could be a better choice if you often find memory foam too stiff and lofty.

Other things to know: Cover feels less luxe than those of our other picks. Much squishier than the layered Tempur-Pedic and contoured Ecosa pillows we recommend. Deal price is for the standard size pillow but other sizes are also on sale.

What we like: Another good foam mattress if you want adequate cushioning but don’t like that classic memory-foam sink. Has a soft top but a firm underlayer. Appeals to sleepers of all positions, but particularly those who rotate throughout the night. Doesn't sleep hot.

Other things to know: Used to be our pick for a non-memory-foam foam mattress. Made with high-density polyfoam, but had poor edge support and motion isolation. You have 100 days to try your mattress. Comes with a 10-year warranty. Deal for the queen size.

Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress — Our Pick
Leesa queen deal price: $1,100 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $1,900
Leesa king/Cal King deal price: $1,300 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $2,200

What we like: Our longtime pick for a foam-forward, bouncy hybrid mattress. Combines the best components of memory foam and innerspring mattresses, with four layers of CertiPUR-US-certified memory foam and over 1,000 springs. Good for stomach, back, and side-sleepers.

Other things to know: 11-inch mattress. 100-day trial period. 10-year warranty. Use code WIRECUTTER on either the queen or king/Cal king sizes. Comes with a free sheet set and two pillows—a nice add-on, but we haven't tested either.

Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid Mattress — Our Pick
Leesa queen deal price: $1,480 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $2,000
Leesa king/Cal king deal price: $1,740 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $2,400

What we like: Our lofty and springy hybrid mattress pick. Medium feel, with some motion isolation. Quilted top loosely cradles your body. More than 3,000 pocketed coils. Fluffy and luxurious; one tester said they "felt like royalty". Durable enough for those weighing over 200 pounds. Best for back- and side-sleepers

Other things to know: Not an ultra-soft, plush mattress. 10-year warranty. 100-day return policy. Use code WIRECUTTER. Both queen and king/Cal king sizes are on sale. Comes with free sheet set and two pillows—a nice add-on, but we haven't tested either.

What we like: Our pick for a cloud-like yet supportive hybrid mattress should appeal to back- and stomach-sleepers, as well as to side-sleepers who prefer a firmer mattress. A crowd favorite in our most recent panel test, garnering the most positive feedback of the nine mattresses we tried. Good edge support.

Other things to know: 10-year warranty and a 120-night trial, but you have to sleep on it for at least 30 days before starting a return, and there’s a $99 return fee. Not recommended for people who weigh more than 200 pounds. Promo code WIRECUTTER35 works for all sizes.

What we like: Our low-maintenance quilt-like weighted blanket pick. Well-balanced and crisp. Can go in the washer and the dryer. Feels like a cross between a quilt and a comforter. Affordable, the stitching is sturdy and close, and it's overall better quality than cheaper options.

Other things to know: Cotton batting prevents weight from enveloping you as closely as blankets without such filler. Traps heat more than knit-style options. Lifetime guarantee on materials and workmanship. Deal is for the 15-pound full/queen blanket, but the 12-pound throw is also on sale for $120.

What we like: Our best memory-foam mattress topper pick. A good option for back- and stomach-sleepers, it offers medium-firm supportive and body-conforming comfort that's not overly sinky. It also provides great motion isolation. The removable, washable cover has corner straps to keep it snugly on the bed.

Other things to know: New low. Not especially soft or pillowy, and may retain heat. Clip the on-page coupon.

What we like: Our pick for the best latex mattress topper. Has a squishy, structured, cradling feel: You rest on top of it, rather than being enveloped by it. Provides good support and pressure-point relief. Ideal for hot sleepers. Comes with a breathable, removable zippered cotton cover.

Other things to know: Squishy, jiggly feel can be polarizing. It’s expensive, less so on sale. Has a distinctive latex odor, which takes a while to dissipate. Comes with a three-year warranty. Promo code WIRECUTTER50 works for all sizes.

What we like: Our pick for the best overall reading light. Chic and compact, with the most light settings of all our picks. Power indicator on the front makes it easy to monitor charge. Simple to twist and adjust brightness and light temperature.

Other things to know: Small buttons can be a bit too sensitive when adjusting clip placement. Use code WCPRIME24.

Sound+Sleep White Noise Machine — Former Pick
Amazon deal price: $60; street price: $88

What we like: A former upgrade pick for the best white noise machine. Easy-to-use, with intuitive design. Provides white noise variations and a mix of rich, customizable ambient sounds. 10 sound categories. Adaptive technology adjusts the volume automatically as your environment changes.

Other things to know: Although it has been replaced by the updated model, the Sound+Sleep still has all the basic sound categories you'd want on a white noise machine. Same adaptive volume tech as the new version as well.

LectroFan EVO White Noise Machine — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $33; street price: $45

What we like: Our top pick for the best white noise machine. Easy to use. Offers a variety of noises. Wider range of volume than competition. Compact design is travel- and nightstand- friendly.

Other things to know: Has a power cord so requires access to an outlet. Only the white color is available at the deal price.

What we like: Another good sateen option in our cotton sheets guide. Feel fantastic to sleep on. More richly dyed than our upgrade pick, with more modern colors than the our sateen pick.

Other things to know: Comes in fewer colors than our upgrade pick. Set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillow cases. Deal price is for the queen size.

What we like: Another good quilt we like if you’re looking for one that’s more like a comforter. We love their cross-pattern stitching style. Fluffy and warm. Light as a feather, with thick cotton batting inside.

Other things to know: Wrinkled a lot after a wash, which made them look messy on the bed. Use code WIRECUTTER25. Deal price is for full/queen size in black lorimer pattern.

Mzoo Sleep Mask — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $17; street price: $22

What we like: Our padded, contoured sleep mask pick. Soft, adjustable, and comfortable. Drops the world into complete darkness as soon as you put it on. Goggle-like design keeps a little space between the mask and a wearer's eyes. Best for side- and back-sleepers. Stays in place all night.

Other things to know: Compression of memory foam is not for everyone as it puts some pressure on orbital bone and eye socket. Hand-wash only.

What we like: Our overall-comfort body pillow pick. Great for side-sleepers and stomach-sleepers. Feels like a moderately firm teddy bear covered in velour. Shredded memory foam conforms to the body. Easy to wash.

Other things to know: May get flat spots you can reshape in the morning. Huge, and memory foam is more likely to retain heat than some other fillings. Street price has risen over the last year.

What we like: Our pick for an affordable and easy-to-move platform bed. Simple and stylish. The lightest of any model we recommend. Easier for one person to assemble and move on their own. Comes with the most straightforward, step-by-step instructions of any bed we recommend.

Other things to know: This standard model has narrower rails (3.5 inches, versus the deluxe’s 5.75 inches) and is slightly cheaper. The frame is veneer, rather than made from solid wood. Use code SUMMERSAVE.

What we like: Our affordable fleece throw blanket pick for kids and teens. Inexpensive but excellent. Light and silky-soft. Bigger than most of our other picks. Wide range of patterns.

Other things to know: Made of synthetic fibers, which may shed microplastics in the laundry. Use code GET25 and store pickup to get the deal. Free shipping available for combined orders of $25 or more. Only available in limited colors. Not the lowest price we've seen, but within a couple bucks.

Alaska Bear Natural Silk Sleep Mask — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $10; street price: $12

What we like: Our pick for a flat silk mask featured in many of our guides. Effectively blocks out unwanted light. Adjustable straps. Silk lining. Good for folks who don't want a contoured sleep mask.

Other things to know: Lightning deal. Flat design may put pressure on the eyes. Street price has come down since the beginning of this year.

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best linen sheets. More texture and slightly heavier than other linen sheets we tested. Beautifully constructed. Available as individual pieces and come in a wide range of sizes and depths. Fabric samples are available (you pay for shipping).

Other things to know: We have seen more complaints about their durability than our picks. Come in the fewest colors of any of our picks. Set includes one fitted sheet and one flat sheet. 30-day return policy on unwashed sheets. Use code LINEN15.

What we like: Our new down-alternative pick in our mattress topper guide. Great for side-sleepers and those who prefer a pillow-y, “hotel bed” feel but don’t want to use feather and down. Makes a firm mattress feel almost cloud-like. Consistent filling throughout.

Other things to know: Doesn’t offer much support. First-time post. Use code FLASH24 at checkout. Deal price is for the queen size, but the code works on all sizes. Shipping is delayed on some sizes.

Coway deal price: $150; street price: $180
Walmart deal price: $150; street price: $180

What we like: Our top pick for best air purifier. Efficient, and affordable. Delivered one of the best cleaning performances of any purifier we tested. Minimal setup and upkeep. Runs quiet, dark, and with low operating costs. Perfect for bedrooms, playrooms, and living rooms.

Other things to know: We recommend keeping the machine on the medium setting, which is quiet, energy-efficient, and effective. Accepts third-party replacement filters easily. Street price has risen over the past year. Only down to $150 in black.

Coway Airmega 400 Air Purifier — Former Pick
Coway deal price: $340; street price: $450
Walmart deal price: $340; street price: $450
Amazon deal price: $340; street price: $450

What we like: Another good option from our guide to the best air purifiers. Exceptional air purification for larger spaces. Reduced particulates by 99.9% on high and 99.7% on medium, even with year-old filters that had been running 24/7.

Other things to know: Former upgrade pick, demoted because our current upgrade pick typically costs less. Rarely goes on sale, and this sale makes it more comparable in price to our upgrade pick. Lowest price we've seen this year.

Dreo PolyFan 704S — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $128; street price: $150

What we like: Our pedestal fan pick is smart, energy-efficient, and oscillates side to side as well as up and down.

Other things to know: 43 inches tall. One-year warranty is significantly shorter than the coverage on many of our other picks (even with the optional 18-month extension).

Dreo HM512S Humidifier — Another Good Option
Amazon deal price: $60; street price: $75

What we like: Another good humidifier that's remarkably similar to our top pick. Performed decently in our tests. Runs well on auto. Can be scheduled through the app. Automatically dims in low-light conditions.

Other things to know: Five-liter capacity. Didn't feel quite as nice as the Levoit models we recommend. On sale, it's almost half the price of our top pick.

What we like: Another good smart humidifier that's remarkably similar to our top pick, all the way down to the tank design and warm-mist capabilities. It performed decently in our tests.

Other things to know: Didn’t feel as nice as the Levoit models we tested. First discount we've seen this year. Currently about $30 less expensive than our top pick. On sale in silver.

Levoit Vital 200S Air Purifier — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $152; street price: $190

What we like: Our high-performance pick from our guide to the best air purifiers. Matched our top pick during our performance tests. The two are very similar in terms of energy efficiency, noise output, and offering the option to shut off the display while maintaining the fan setting of your choosing.

Other things to know: This model is a newish release (January 2023), so we've only long-term tested it for months rather than years, as is the case with some other picks. On sale in white.

Blueair Blue Pure 511 Air Purifier — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $67; street price: $85

What we like: Our budget air purifier pick. Not much bigger than a 3-liter soda bottle. Quiet and energy-efficient purifier. Understated look. Automatic display-shutoff. A tiny standout for small spaces like dorm rooms, offices, or children’s bedrooms.

Other things to know: A very basic machine—no smart functionality and no auto setting to self-adjust fan speed when air quality changes. Best for rooms under 180 square feet. Filter lasts about six months; a replacement costs about $20.

Midea 20 Pint Cube Dehumidifier — Pick Variant
Amazon deal price: $160; street price: $190

What we like: Our pick for a smaller and lighter dehumidifier. A scaled-down and less expensive version of our top pick, the 50-pint Midea Cube. Solid and reliable dehumidifier for spaces up to about 600 square feet.

Other things to know: Weighs about 28 pounds when full. Requires lifting off the 30-pound condenser unit to be manually drained. Currently with delayed shipping.

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best air purifier. Stellar performance for large spaces around 500 square feet. Reduced smoke levels in our test room by more than 99.9 percent on its high and high-medium settings. Has air quality sensor, child lock controls, ability to shut off display, and an app for more features.

Other things to know: The relatively high price is backed up by the performance, but this much purifier is overkill for medium-size and small rooms. Filters have a shorter replacement cycle than many of our other picks, at six to nine months (versus a typical year).

The Branch Duo Standing Desk at standing height
Photo: Marki Williams

What we like: Our standing desk pick for tall-ish folks and small spaces. Comes with a compact, 36-by-24-inch desktop. Has a two-tier lifting column that’s ideal for people between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-5. 10-year warranty and 275-pound lift capacity offers peace of mind regarding its long-term durability.

Other things to know: Even our 5-foot-tall panelists and a panelist in an electric wheelchair said they could adjust it to their liking. Only comes in five laminate finishes. Doesn’t offer nearly as many customizable features as our Uplift and Fully picks. Control paddle can be clunky to use.

Brother MFC-J4335DW Printer — Budget Pick
Staples deal price: $150; street price: $180

What we like: Our budget all-in-one printer pick and our pick for the best cheap all-in-one printer. A quality option that gets a variety of jobs (color print, scan, fax, copy) done well. Astonishingly crisp text. Comes with a year's worth of ink. No gimmicky subscriptions.

Plain-language security recommendations for first-time users and advanced features for the technically inclined. The Family Plan remembers app and website login info for up to five active members, manages passwords individually, but allows for secure password and credit card info sharing. Plus, supports account recovery for family members.

Other things to know: Deal for a one-year subscription is limited to new subscribers. Matches the best pricing we’ve seen but is a recurring sale.

Brother P-Touch Cube Label Maker — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $43; street price: $55

What we like: Our budget pick for best label maker. Easy to use. Good for occasional label making. Produces the same high-quality labels and uses the same great design suite as our top pick.

Other things to know: A stripped-down version of our top pick. Lacks automatic cutter and built-in rechargeable battery. Recurring deal price, but rarely drops lower. On sale in white.

What we like: Our better-warranty under-desk treadmill pick. Easy to set up. Offers a smooth ride, a deck screen with Bluetooth speaker, and a belt size mirroring that of our top pick. Comes with a one-year warranty, which is substantially better than tour top pick's 90-day warranty.

Other things to know: Walking pad tops out at 3.7 mph. Can only support up to 220 pounds. In our testing, its belt started to fray after just a few weeks of use—damage that isn’t covered by the warranty. Deal available in white.

Goplus 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $224; street price: $280

What we like: Our pick for the best under-desk treadmill. Simple to set up, sturdy, and Bluetooth-enabled. Comfortable to walk on for long periods of time, and light enough to move around on its two front wheels. Smoothly accelerates to its top speed of 7.5 mph.

Other things to know: Only a 90-day warranty and we noticed the belt start to fray along the edge in testing. Can safely accommodate up to 265 pounds; more than most models and our other pick. Deal is only available in black.

The Belkin Boost Charge Plus 10K portable power bank.
Photo: Connie Park

What we like: Our top pick for best USB power bank for phones and tablets. Small, light, and easy to slip into a pocket. Powerful enough to quickly recharge most smartphones up to three times. Two built-in cables (USB-C and Lightning) for convenience and never needing to search for a cord.

Other things to know: 19 watts tested input via USB-C PD to charge, 18 watts output, with a 10,0000 mAh. Passthrough charging enabled. We've seen it drop a little bit lower, but this deal is still a decent value.

Other things to know: Deal price available in black only. Comes with a two-year warranty. Not as compact as some of our single-port picks.

What we like: Our top pick for the best portable power station. Large battery capacity. Light enough for the average adult to safely lift and carry. Three AC outputs. Two USB-A and two USB-C ports. Rugged build. Easy-to-read screen. Shows input and output wattage plus reserve power.

Other things to know: Not the most powerful model we tested, but impressive for the price. The screen isn’t as large or bright as that of our runner-up pick from EcoFlow. Two-year Jackery warranty. Within $20 of the lowest price we've seen for this model.

B&H deal price: $130; street price: $175
Guitar Center deal price: $130; street price: $175

What we like: Our pick for the best budget batteries from our guide to earthquake preparedness. During an emergency, it’s smart to keep a few disposable batteries on hand. Affordable, reliable. 10-year shelf life (according to the manufacturer).

Other things to know: Pack of 24 batteries. Works for the lantern we recommend in the same guide to earthquake preparedness.

BigBlue 28W USB Solar Charger — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $58; street price: $70

What we like: Our budget pick for the best portable solar battery charger. Smaller, lighter, and less expensive than our top pick. Has three weatherproof output ports. IPX4 rating means it’s protected against water spills and splashes.

Other things to know: Former top pick. Held closed with just a weak strip of Velcro. Long and a bit unwieldy when unfolded. Minimal resistance to dust and other solid particles. Recurring deal price for the black color.

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best portable power station. Has six AC outlets (top pick only has three), two USB-C ports, and four USB-A ports, and we measured its maximum output at 2,040 W. Brightly lit screen is easier to read than those of others we’ve tested.

Other things to know: Formerly our top pick. Heavier than our top pick but still relatively light at 31 pounds. Not the lowest price we've seen, but still a good deal.

What we like: Budget pick Apple wireless charging station for multiple devices. Sleek, streamlined look with a sturdy base.

Other things to know: First deal we've seen in over two years. One less charging pad and slightly less power than our top pick, but nearly half the cost. Comes with a USB-C cable.

What we like: One of our top picks for the best rechargeable AAA batteries. Low self-discharge batteries. Rated to last at least 1,000 charges and discharges. Capacity rating of 1,100 mAh.

Other things to know: All our AAA rechargeable battery pick had identical results in our tests, so our guide writers recommend you get whichever pick is the least expensive—deals on EBL help.

What we like: One of our picks for the best lithium rechargeable AAA batteries. Can charge any device requiring 1.5 volts. An included four-prong cable can charge up to four of them at once via the built-in Micro-USB ports on their sides. Exceeded expectations in our short-term capacity tests.

Other things to know: Both of our picks performed abysmally in our long-term tests (which was disappointing but in line with the performance of other Li-ion batteries we tested). Deal for a pack of four.

What we like: Our pick for the best lithium rechargeable AA batteries. Can power any device that requires 1.5 volts. Included four-prong cable can charge up to four batteries at once via the built-in Micro-USB ports on their sides.

Other things to know: Struggled to keep low power-draw devices running for long, but far exceeded our expectations when it came to high power-draw devices. Deal is for a 4-pack.

What we like: One of our picks for the best lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. Low self-discharge batteries, and they’re rated to last at least 1,000 charge/discharge cycles. Good for devices that require a slightly higher voltage than the 1.2 volts that NiMH batteries can provide.

Other things to know: Can be charged normally in any charger that’s compatible with Li-ion batteries. As with all the Li-ion batteries we tested, their long-term capacity measurements were dismal. Deal for a pack of four.

What we like: One of our top picks for the best rechargeable AA batteries. Low self-discharge batteries. Rated to last at least 1,000 charges and discharges. Capacity rating of 2,800 mAh.

Other things to know: All our AA rechargeable battery pick had identical results in our tests, so our guide writers recommend you get whichever pick is the least expensive—deals on EBL help.

Nekteck 60W USB-C GaN Charger — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $21; street price: $30

What we like: Our top pick for the best replacement USB-C laptop or tablet charger. Charges most USB-C devices at max speed. More compact than most other 60W chargers. Has a convenient fold-up plug and comes with a detachable USB-C to USB-C cable.

Other things to know: Cable has sluggish USB 2.0 data-transfer rates. USB-IF and ETL certified. 12-month warranty. Lightning deal with clipped on-page coupon.

What we like: Our top pick for best slow cooker. Its intuitive interface, probe thermometer, locking lid, and modest price make it the best cooker of the models we tested. In our tests, it successfully simmered beans on a low setting without boiling them and turning them to mush.

Other things to know: Has been our top pick since 2013. We wish the probe thermometer were longer and had a longer power cord. The handles are small and it isn't so easy to pour foods or liquid out of the crock.

What we like: Another good food processor that's a good buy on sale. Easier to use and clean than some other models. Straightforward interface, with just two buttons and one bowl. Tackles a multitude of chopping, shredding, and blending tasks exceptionally well.

Specific settings for dehydrating, proofing, and slow cooking. Crisps up food faster than traditional toaster ovens. Large two-rack capacity. Multiple fan speeds.

Other things to know: Even on sale, notably more expensive than our other picks. "Super convection" fan speed is incredibly loud. Didn't toast bread quite as evenly as other picks. We'd prefer a pizza stone over the included nonstick pizza pan. As low as we've seen this model.

Kohl's deal price: $75; street price: $100

What we like: Our pick for the best microwavable popcorn bowl. Incredibly simple to use and easy to clean, and it folds down for more-efficient storage. Doesn't need oil, but you can add some if you’d like (in our experience, you’ll get slightly better results).

Other things to know: Made of heavy plastic, with an unpainted metal cup that presses down on the citrus. Most of the bartenders we interviewed preferred hand press juicers to other models. Too small to fit an orange or a grapefruit. Only the lime green color remains on sale.

What we like: One of our serious chef's knife picks for young cooks. Larger size makes it better for more adult-sized teens. Nicely balanced, easy to handle, and comes with a high-quality blade.

Other things to know: Will eventually need sharpening. Make sure to give clear instructions when instructing children proper knife safety. Expensive, but a good investment that will last for years with a little maintenance.

Dash Rapid Cold Brew Maker — Another Good Option
Amazon deal price: $90; street price: $130

What we like: Another good cold brew coffee maker if you don't like the long wait. Uses vacuum technology. Can prepare cold-brew coffee in 20 minutes or less. We enjoyed its coffee, which had the smoothness, low acidity, and low bitterness that we expect from cold brew. Can accommodate a fairly high ratio of coffee to water, for those who’d prefer to make a cold-brew concentrate.

Other things to know: Coffee was similar enough to that made in our top pick, though not as strong and had less clarity of flavor. Expensive; typically more than double the price of our top pick.

Espro P3 French Press (32-ounce) — Top Pick

Other things to know: Only brews one cup at a time. A good drop, especially if you don't want or need the carrying bag that has accompanied some deals.

Recently, we put the Creami through our standard run of tests alongside conventional ice cream makers. We were impressed by how quickly it could spin a frozen pint of ingredients into a mostly smooth ice cream, even with tricky, low-fat bases. Plus, its ice cream was ready to eat. But that convenience comes at a cost—we have serious doubts about the safety and longevity of the Ninja Creami.

What we like: Turns frozen ingredients into smooth ice cream quickly. Makes ready-to-eat ice cream. Much cheaper than the $6,000 Pacojet, which uses similar drilling function.

Other things to know: Leaves sections of frozen base unmixed. Blades potentially dig into plastic, leaving shreds in ice cream. Created burnt-plastic smell during testing. Three times as expensive as our preferred machine.

Yesterday, we saw a deal on the Cuisinart ICE-21, our top-pick ice cream maker. While this deal has since expired, we're hard at work looking for other deals on our ice cream maker picks.

Squatty Potty Oslo Folding Bamboo Stool — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $29; street price: $40

What we like: One of our foldable and portable toilet stool picks. A good choice for small spaces. Folds flat for storage and sturdy when set up. Nicer-looking than a lot of other options.

Other things to know: Takes considerable effort to fold up. Flat platform has multiple crevices that require frequent cleaning. Shallow toilet cutout. Should not be used as anything other than a footrest. On sale in brown.

What we like: Another good bathroom scale if you require a higher weight capacity or just want a bigger platform. A beautiful, extra-large scale that is as accurate as our picks on level flooring,

Other things to know: 550 pound weight capacity. 15 by 13 inch platform. Beeps loudly three times after each weigh-in with no way to turn the sound off. Covered by a two-year warranty.

What we like: One of our chemical sunscreen picks that's available in bulk. Good for face and body. Rubs in easily and is nearly transparent once applied. Light, pleasant scent. SPF 50 rating offers a high level of protection. User-friendly pump bottle.

Other things to know: None of Wirecutter’s testers experienced a white cast, but some of them reported that it left them feeling greasy. The 18-ounce jug is the most affordable size on a per-ounce basis.

What we like: Our pick for a facial sunscreen with no white cast whatsoever. Spreads easily. Doubles as a makeup primer and stays on great underneath makeup. One of our testers also said it "can be reapplied throughout the day on top of makeup without looking oily or sticky.” Water resistant for up to 40 minutes. Very little odor.

Other things to know: Texture can be off-putting to some. Feels greasy, with a texture like watery petroleum jelly. Expensive for sunscreen. Deal is for the 1.7 oz size.

Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $50; street price: $80

What we like: Our runner-up pick for best water flosser is just as effective as our top pick and comes with similar three-year warranty. Easy to use and clean. Ten pressure settings, including a “massage” setting that emits pulses of water.

Other things to know: This is a corded model and requires a power outlet during use. Takes up more counter space than our top pick.

What we like: An at-home teeth-whitening solution that used and loved by the Wirecutter staff. Low-tech, effective, and very affordable. No dentist visits required. Comes with 20 Professional Effects treatments and two 1-Hour Express treatments.

Other things to know: Slower than professional treatments—results take several sessions over the course of a few weeks. Not as good as the typical Costco deals we see, but a good discount for those without a Costco membership.

Eufy P2 Pro Smart Scale — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $75

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best smart scale. Accurate and consistent. Exceptionally water-resistant. Robust and easy-to-use app. Connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Compatible with Apple Health, Google Fit, and Fitbit. Does not limit the number of users it can store information for.

Other things to know: Typically double the price of our top pick—it's also slightly smaller, not as consistently accurate, and requires more frequent battery replacement. Longer warranty than our top pick, 15 months versus 12 months.

What we like: Our upgrade electric razor pick gives you a premium, easy, smooth shave in a high-end package. Comes with our top pick’s accessories, plus titanium-coated blades (with a middle trimmer) and a feature that matches the blade speed to beard density.

Other things to know: In our testing, matched its claim of being effective at mowing through a seven-day beard. Comes with a charging travel case. Expensive.

What we like: Our upgrade hair dryer pick since 2016 is extraordinarily nice to use. Vibration-free and quieter than other high-end models. The short nozzle is ultra-maneuverable. Takes simple-to-switch magnetic attachments for easy styling. Has a long, 9-foot cord.

Other things to know: Doesn't make your hair look substantively better than cheaper dryers. Only available in the blue/rosé color. The Origin model only comes with the styling concentrator attachment. Refurbished.

RevAir Hair Dryer — Upgrade Pick
RevAir deal price: $330; street price: $400

What we like: Our upgrade hair dryer pick. “Reverse air” suction simultaneously dries, stretches, straightens, and smooths hair. Great for thick, dense, or curly/coily/kinky hair; especially for Type 3 and 4 curl patterns. Gentle on fragile strands and can cut down total drying time significantly.

Other things to know: Expensive, bulky, and loud. Exceptionally large footprint compared with most hair dryers. Weighs about eight pounds. We typically see the best deals for this dryer during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Use code REV10. Price includes shipping.

Revlon Turbo-Speed Hair Dryer — Another Good Option
Amazon deal price: $15; street price: $20

What we like: Another good budget option we like from our guide to the best hair dryers. One of the least expensive, lightest hair dryers we've ever tested. One of the hottest dryers we've tested, reaching over 245 °F in just a few seconds.

Other things to know: One of the slowest dryers we like (41 mph), and a fairly short cord (5.5 feet). Only has two speeds. Polarizing—people either love it or hate it.

Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer — Another Good Option
Amazon deal price: $160; street price: $180
Nordstrom deal price: $160; street price: $180
Best Buy deal price: $160; street price: $180

What we like: Another good hair dryer if you want to splurge (but not too much). A traditional hair dryer that is a great middle ground between tour top pick and our Dyson upgrade pick. Sleek and slim. Fast and hot, providing excellent blowout results.

Other things to know: Has a shorter cord and is not as gentle or quiet as our Dyson upgrade pick. Comes with a selection of three out of the available six attachments. Warrantied for two years.

MaxKare Foot Spa Massager (16 rollers) — Our Pick
Walmart deal price: $37; street price: $64

What we like: A heated, massaging foot spa we like if you really want a plug-in option. The only brand we tested that could genuinely produce heat. Provides pleasant bubbles and a halfway-decent foot massage from its 16 rollers, too.

Other things to know:  A bathtub or a bucket of heated water will work just fine to soothe and soften your feet. It's fairly noisy. Deal price includes the cost of shipping, though Walmart Plus members or those adding to an over-$35 order will get shipping for free.

What we like: Our upcoming top pick for the best electric toothbrush for kids. This quiet, vibrating brush has a smaller brush head and handle, and comes with a two-minute timer that shuts off the brush automatically, a long-lasting battery, and an interactive app which may be encouraging to some kids.

Other things to know: Some kids find vibrating brushes to be uncomfortable or ticklish. If you child tends to be rough on toothbrushes, the brush heads may need to be replaced more frequently. No case, protective cap is easy to lose. Brush heads typically cost about $6 each so this bundle on sale is a great value.

What we like: Our top pick for the best sustainable toilet paper. Made with 100% recycled materials, but you’d never know it by the look and feel of this soft, sturdy, and lint-free toilet paper. Its price is on a par with that of traditional papers, and it was unanimously liked by testers.

Other things to know: No chlorine is used in the manufacturing process. Deal for four packs of 12 rolls, 48 rolls total.

What we like: Our pick for an unobtrusive mineral formula face sunscreen. Easy to rub in. Doesn’t feel chalky or leave a white cast. Reef-safe.

Other things to know: Green tint is marketed to reduce skin redness, but doesn’t seem to do anything. Not great for those with facial hair.

Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30 (3 Ounces) — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $8; street price: $15

What we like: Our pick for a less expensive hydrating chemical face sunscreen. Leaves a dewy finish on your skin. No white cast. Lightly scented. Thick yet blends smoothly. Will appeal to a wide array of people.

Other things to know: Slow to dry. You may not like the sheen if you have oily skin. Deal is for the 3-ounce size in Disney's The Little Mermaid packaging.

Wyze Scale X Smart Scale — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $34; street price: $40

What we like: Our top smart scale pick. Affordable and accurate. Longest battery life of any model we tested that uses replaceable batteries. Sends data via Bluetooth to a clean app that’s fairly intuitive from first use. It’s also compatible with other major health apps.

Other things to know: Wyze recently experienced a significant security breach, leading Wirecutter to pause reviewing and recommending Wyze Smart Home devices. The breach didn’t affect scales, but is a major concern to us nonetheless. We'll keep paying attention for any security issues.

What we like: A massage mat we recommend in our gift guides for mothers and fathers. Covered in 27-point plastic spikes for increased circulation and relaxation. Portable, linen, cushioned-foam mat. Effectively relieves tense muscles via acupressure massage.

Other things to know: Be warned, it might be a little intense at first. Removable cotton cover must be hand-washed and hung to dry. Street price has risen over the past year.

What we like: A hair oil we recommend in our last-minute Mother's Day gift guide. Lightweight and hydrating. Formulated with a blend of camellia, marula, and argan oils. Soothes frizz and flyaways. Adds some serious shine without making hair look greasy or weighed-down.

Other things to know: Add one or two pumps to the lengths (not scalp) of towel- or fully dried hair. Deal is for 3.4-ounce bottle.

Osaki OS-Champ Massage Chair — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $1,600; street price: $2,000

What we like: Our top pick for the best massage chair. Also recommended in our gift guide for grandparents. Extendable footrest. Excellent heating and reclining features. Our testers gave it top marks for comfort, build quality, and overall experience.

Other things to know: Faux-leather padding. Not the most aesthetically pleasing. Designed to hold up to 260 pounds, but those weighing 220 pounds or more still may want to consider other options first. On sale in cream and taupe color combination.

What we like: Our portable massage chair pick.  Easy to set up, use, and pack for storage or transport. Straps to an existing chair. Massages the neck and shoulders, as well as the upper and lower back. Can customize massage programs to fit your body. You can actually feel the warmth from its heating feature.

Other things to know: Massages fewer body parts than our other chair picks. Heavy and expensive. Backed by a two-year warranty.

What we like: Another good portable massage chair option if our portable pick is unavailable. Performed about as well as our official portable pick. Has many of the same desirable features plus a removable back flap, machine-washable neck cover, and airbags that gently inflate and deflate against the sides of the body.

Other things to know: We recommend this if our portable massage chair pick is unavailable or more expensive (which it is), and you can live with a heavier model that has a shorter warranty (one year versus two).

What we like: Our runner-up DNA testing kit pick. Just as accurate as our top pick, with a more polished interface. Differentiates maternal and paternal lineages (not all do). Kit includes add-on health package that identifies potential health indicators in your DNA.

Other things to know: Smaller DNA database than that of our top pick. We didn’t evaluate the add-on biomedical testing. Notable privacy concerns. Among all DNA testing services, legal guidelines are limited—meaning it's impossible to guarantee who will be able to use your information in the future.

What we like: Our pick for the best reef-safe physical sunscreen. Uses ingredients considered safest for reefs. Clear non-nano zinc oxide. Easier to rub in than our physical sunscreen pick. Leaves less of a white cast on skin than other reef-safe formulas we tested.

Other things to know: Water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Broad-spectrum protection. Strong, sweet added fragrance. More expensive than our other picks. Lightning deal for a pack of two.

Whoop 4.0 Sleep and Activity Tracker — Also Great
Walmart deal price: $200; street price: $240

What we like: A wristband we love for tracking both sleep and activity. Offers accurate sleep and heart-rate data, and our test found its sleep data to be accurate as well. Tracks more fitness-related metrics than our top pick, the Oura Ring. Lightweight woven wristband was comfortable all day and during sleep, and blended in with outfits.

Other things to know: Ideal for wearers who don’t mind inputting a lot of data into the app, which can be intimidating. To use it, you need a $239 annual subscription (or $399 for two years), but fees are FSA-eligible. Battery lasts up to 5 days. Water-resistant.

AncestryDNA + Traits Test Kit — Pick Variant
Walmart deal price: $39; street price: $119

What we like: A variant of our top DNA testing kit pick that includes the Traits add-on. Easily explore your ethnic roots. Largest family-matching database we've seen. Thorough reports and interface. Straightforward instructions. Clearly presents test results with useful historical context.

Other things to know: Traits add-on unlocks access to 40+ wellness, appearance, sensory, and other personal genetic traits. AncestryDNA monetizes biomedical data if you opt into its research program. All DNA test kits have privacy risks that you should take into account. Matches low.

Our pick for best massage gun that is portable, the Therabody Theragun Mini 2nd Generation, in front of a green background.
Photo: Marki Williams

Therabody Theragun Mini 2nd Generation — Our Pick
Walmart deal price: $139; street price: $180

What we like: Our pick for the best compact massage gun. Tackles the basics and is good for travel. Lightweight shape is easy to hold. Better for harder-to-reach spots than our other picks. Solid battery life, simple functionality, and not-too-loud sound.

Other things to know: Also recommended in our gift guide for cyclists. Comes with three attachments, fewer than most models. Bluetooth enabled and connects to the Therabody app with access to guided programs. One-year limited warranty.

Peloton Bike+ — Pick Variant
Amazon deal price: $1,995; street price: $2,400

What we like: An upgraded version of one of our indoor cycle picks. Smooth and sturdy ride. Immersive experience. Community emphasis. Engaging instructors. Bike+ features a larger touchscreen tablet that rotates 180 degrees left and right, an upgraded sound system, an improved front-facing camera with a privacy cover, and integrated Apple GymKit support.

Other things to know: Even more expensive than the Peloton Bike and the add-ons aren’t crucial to getting the full experience. Requires a subscription ($44 a month) to function maximally. Limited warranty covers the tablet, mechanics, parts, and service (from issues related to normal wear and tear for one year and the bike frame for five years).

Fitbit Charge 6 Fitness Tracker — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $100; street price: $140

What we like: Our runner-up fitness tracker pick continues a tradition of accurate activity tracking in the Charge series. Has 40 exercise modes, including third party apps like Peloton. Has a haptic side button that allows for easier screen navigation than swiping on the touchscreen.

Other things to know: Comes equipped with Google Maps, Google Wallet, and YouTube Music (subscription needed) but you also need a Google account to use the Charge 6, even if you already have a Fitbit account. GPS got spotty if the band was worn too tightly.

TriggerPoint Rush Roller — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $36; street price: $45

What we like: Our foam roller pick for deeper muscle release. Diamond-shaped pattern of ridges allows you to address knots in specific muscle groups with precision. We like it for targeted, deeper work on areas like glutes, hamstrings, and calves.

Other things to know: Also recommended in Wirecutter gift guides. More expensive than our other picks in the same size. Isn’t as versatile for spanning the length of larger muscle groups and is more firm than our other picks.

OPTP Black Axis Firm Foam Roller — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $29; street price: $36

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best foam roller to use at home. Firm density. Provides reliable compression for large and medium muscle groups. Manufacturer has 30-plus-year reputation for providing quality, long-lasting orthopedic equipment for professional use.

Other things to know: Highly similar to our top pick, but more expensive—even when on sale. Our tests found most EPP (expanded polypropylene) rollers aren’t all that different from one another. Deal is for the 36-by-6-inch round roller. Lowest price we've seen so far.

What we like: Our top pick for the best exercise ball. Tied for the sturdiest seat. Retained air the best of everything we tested. Made of a thick and weighty PVC that’s slick enough to facilitate movement but sticky enough to provide a safety-enhancing grip. Comes in sizes suitable for people 4′8″ to 6′5″ and even taller.

Other things to know: Required the most time and energy to inflate, but the effort paid off with an extra-supportive seat. Deal price for the 75 cm size but the other sizes are also on sale.

XYLsports Jump Rope — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $6; street price: $8

What we like: Our top pick for the best jump rope for general fitness. Ultra-smooth, bearing-assisted rotation and squishy foam-padded handles. The most durable on pavement during our testing.

Other things to know: All-black licorice-type jump rope. Annoying to shorten. On sale in the black color.

Tribe Comrade Phone Holder Armband — Budget Pick
Amazon deal price: $10; street price: $13

What we like: Our budget pick for iPhone running armbands. Feels great on the arm. Doesn’t pinch or bind. Simple to use. Stays put.

Other things to know: Feels flimsier than our top pick. Plastic screen is less sensitive to swiping. On sale in multiple color and phone-size options.

Wahoo Kickr Core Resistance Trainer — Gift Pick
Amazon deal price: $425; street price: $500

What we like: A gift pick for cyclists. A way to train indoors in rotten weather like the pros do. Sturdy and stable. This smart trainer accommodates most modern road bikes. Comes with a year’s membership in the online game Zwift.

Other things to know: Isn’t as portable as the more-expensive Kickr, which folds for easier transport.

Gaiam Performance Dry-Grip Yoga Mat — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $45; street price: $55

What we like: Our rubber-free runner-up pick for best yoga mat. Comparable traction, support, and cushioning to our top pick, but a pound lighter for easier carrying. Made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Top layer wicks away moisture.

Other things to know: Emits an odor in the beginning. In our tests, that odor faded after a few days but didn’t disappear. Only available in the marbled color.

Horizon Fitness 7.0 AT Treadmill — Another Good Option
Dicks deal price: $800; street price: $1,200

What we like: Another good treadmill if you prefer to stream classes on a device of your own and require quick adjustments. Includes two QuickDial controls (one for speed, one for incline) on what look like video-game joysticks. The console, which has a tablet holder for streaming workouts from your own device, houses a 7-inch LCD. Folds for storage.

Other things to know: Top speed of 12 mph and a maximum incline of 15%. Strong warranty: lifetime for the frame and motor, three years for the parts, and one year for labor. Only available for curbside or in-store pickup.

Kryptonite Keeper 585 Bike Lock — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $50; street price: $70

What we like: Our pick for a medium-security folding lock is a relatively lightweight folding lock can wrap around odd angles more easily than a U-lock and is more secure than a cable lock Offers the best combination of security, weight, and price among folding locks.

Other things to know: If security is your only concern, we recommend skipping a folding lock altogether because the rivets are easy to break. Measures 85 cm (32 inches) long, weighs 1.7 pounds, has 3 mm hardened steel rivets. Comes with $500 of anti-theft protection.

Our pick for best infant car seat, the Graco SnugRide SnugFit 35 DLX.
Photo: Michael Hession

What we like: Our top pick for the best infant car seat provides the total package of user-friendliness, quality, and value. One of the simplest infant car seats to install when you’re using the base. It has an added safety feature: an anti-rebound base. Can accommodate babies up to 32 inches or 35 pounds.

Other things to know: At 10½ pounds, it's the heaviest of our picks. We found its no-base, seat-belt-only install tricky to pull off. Not as compatible with as many strollers from various brands as our other three picks. Available in two colors.

Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $120; street price: $200

What we like: Our top pick for the best convertible car seat. Straightforward to install and use. Encourages extended rear-facing use—the safest orientation for young children.

Other things to know: Converting from rear-facing to forward-facing requires removing the seat cover. Lacks seat belt lock-off. Limited colors on sale.

Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 Double Stroller — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $525; street price: $700

What we like: Our pick for the best side-by-side double stroller. Excels in maneuverability as the narrowest side-by-side model we tested. Has an excellent combination of features. Puts kids in equal-size seats, lets them both recline, and has notably simple fold.

Other things to know: Accommodates only one infant car seat at a time. Some people may find the divided storage basket and complicated buckles annoying. Rarely goes on sale.

What we like: Our pick for the best jogging stroller. Lighter than most and a pleasure to push on pavement, though it can handle the occasional off-road detour. Easy to maneuver, nimble and convenient for day-to-day use. Includes all of the desired safety features we looked for.

Other things to know: Unique handlebar design works well for all heights. Can carry kids up to 49 pounds and 44 inches. Pricey, but noticeably high-quality. Three colors. Comes with water bottle cage, which you normally have to pay more for. Ships end of July.

What we like: Our upgrade high chair pick, with a bundle of nice add-ons. Suitable for 6-month-olds through the end of childhood. Especially suitable for preschoolers. Configurable a dozen ways. Attractive solid wood construction.

Other things to know: Pricey, and the also-pricey add-ons make the bundle a great value. Includes the high chair, a Tripp Trapp Baby Set with five-point harness and gliders, a cushion and a tray. Removing the safety harness for cleaning requires a screwdriver.

Britax Poplar Convertible Car Seat — Runner-Up
Amazon deal price: $240; street price: $315
Walmart deal price: $240; street price: $315

What we like: Our runner-up pick for best convertible and all-in-one car seat. The easiest-to-install seat we tested, by far, thanks to Britax’s ClickTight technology. Looks and feels plush, with fabric that can be machine-washed and dried. Comes with convenient cup holders. Built narrow, which is good for small vehicles.

Other things to know: Bulkier and heavier than some others we tested. Not great for extended rear-facing.

What we like: The best emergency-bag baby wipes from our emergency preparedness supplies guide. We like these wipes because they're cheap, durable enough for cleaning up messes, and effective for freshening up when you have limited water supply.

Other things to know: Some Amazon reviewers report that these aren’t the softest baby wipes, but that actually makes them a better fit in an emergency situation, considering the harder cleaning tasks you might encounter. Deal price is for a 786-count package.

Maxi-Cosi Cassia Baby Swing — Another Good Option
Amazon deal price: $140; street price: $200

What we like: Another good baby swing if you want a compact, whisper-quiet model for smaller babies. Designed for birth to 20 pounds. Quietest swing we tested. Has a motion sensor mode, when selected, causes the swing to move when the baby moves or fusses.

Other things to know: Some people complain that the swing jerks or bumps as it reaches the limits of its range of motion, but we didn’t observe this during testing. Deal price is on the color classic slate.

Boppy Best Latch Nursing Pillow — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

What we like: Our upcoming new best nursing pillow pick for first-time parents. Impressed our testing panel with its versatility. Has two distinct sides (its newborn-supporting side is better than the competition), an adjustable belt, and a surface area that can cradle a baby comfortably. Size-inclusive design.

Other things to know: The he soft side of the pillow is fully sewn into the cover, so the entire thing is out of commission while you wash it. Flimsy waist belt. Two color options on sale.

The Nori Press has been all over social media since it launched, and we recently put it to the test alongside our new top-pick clothing steamer pick as well as the iron we’ve been recommending since 2017. Despite its beauty and portability, it didn’t perform as well as either. Even though the Nori is on sale for Prime Day, we don’t recommend it.

What we like: With sleek lines and a matte-plastic exterior, the 14-inch-long Press—available in white, sage, sky blue, and navy, with color-matched power cords, naturally—resembles a jumbo, high-end hair straightener. It’s so cute, you don’t even need to hide it between uses.

Other things to know: The water reservoir is tiny, and doesn’t hold enough to de-wrinkle a full garment. It’s light, but not ergonomic and we found it required a lot of hand strength to use. Overall, it’s fine for touch-ups but because it’s so short, it’s not great for tackling creases in the middle of a shirt, for example, or de-wrinkling a whole maxi skirt.

Cheaper (and better!) options: Instead of the Nori Press, we recommend the Conair Turbo ExtremeSteam garment steamer and the all-around great Black+Decker iron, which are on sale for Prime Day.

What we like: Our new pick for the best clothing steamer. The most powerful midsize steamer we tested. Comfortable to use and quick to heat up. Five settings to handle different fabrics. Quickly relaxes wrinkles without spitting any water.

Other things to know: Very similar to our previous top pick, but more powerful. Filling the somewhat small 7.3-ounce water tank can be a little tricky, but we think it's a worthy tradeoff for the drip-free performance. One-year warranty. Limited colors.

What we like: Our budget pick for the best clothing iron. Creates strong whooshes of steam. Stainless steel plate glides smoothly across a variety of fabrics. Handle is comfortable to hold and use. The company has strong customer service.

Other things to know: The heating element is prone to breaking. Two-year warranty. For the price and performance, we recommend this iron as long as you don’t mind the possibility of having to replace it sooner than our other picks.

A pair of white, low-top Nike Air Force 1 ’07 sneakers.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

Nike Air Force 1 '07 (Low-Top, Unisex/Men’s) — Our Pick
Dick's Sporting Goods deal price: $74; street price: $100

What we like: The crisp upper. The bright white. The striking lines. Our streetwear and sneakerhead staple pick in our guide to the best white sneakers. Super comfortable, with a storied history both on the court and on the street.

Other things to know: Style might seem bulky if you prefer slim shoes. On sale in white/honeydew/multi color in most sizes. Price reflects in cart.

What we like: Our pick for a crowd-pleasing pair of ankle-length women's jeans. Versatile, comfy, booty-flattering, well made, and under $100. Available in a wide range of sizes and three inseams. 99% cotton 1% elastane blend is structured, but has enough give to fit comfortably on the first wear.

Other things to know: Testers with more defined waists found these jeans true-to-size; otherwise, consider sizing up. Deal price is available in one color called "well worn" and sizes 24-32 with a 28-inch inseam.

What we like: An opportunity to get two pairs of our pick for a crowd-pleasing pair of ankle-length women's jeans.

Deal price is available in the colors "your word - light wash" (stretch), and in "probably ok - light wash" and steeped lichen green (both non-stretch). Deal reflects at checkout.

What we like: Our pick for iconic jeans from our guide to the best women's jeans. An American classic, these jeans have a long, slim-straight shape that never gets old. Plus, the Premium model is especially sturdy and comfy. They're available in lots of sizes.

Other things to know: Front pockets are long, adding bulk in front. Finding your perfect fit can take some trial and error. Available in multiple washes and sizes. Levi's has sales often, but this is a decent savings if you need a couple pairs right now.

What we like: Our pick for a budget-friendly tee that gets the job done. This classic crew-neck shirt is surprisingly solid: soft enough, substantial, and available in a wide range of sizes. It’s cut longer and more relaxed than our other picks.

Other things to know: It shrinks more in the wash. Overall lower quality than our other picks but a fraction of the cost.

What we like: Our pick for the best breathable women's underwear with no VPL (visible panty line). Stretchy mid-rise brief. Luxurious, feather-light, buttery fabric. Stays in place. Moisture wicking and quick-dry. A great option for travel or if you tend to get sweaty.

Other things to know: Much more sheer than other styles. Comes in a rainbow of color options (mix and match is allowed with this promo). Add three pairs of underwear to your cart and use code WCAIR (final deal price includes $8 shipping). We occasionally see better prices for limited colors and sizes.

Reebok Club C 85 White Shoes (Unisex) — Pick Variant
Reebok deal price: $40; street price: $70

What we like: A less expensive, bright white version of our retro white tennis shoes pick. Unfussy, low-cut silhouette. Slim profile. Leather upper. Sturdy rubber sole. Lightweight foam padding makes them comfy for casual wear. Old-school, preppy-chic aesthetic.

Other things to know: Missing off-white coloring and terry lining of our pick, and leather isn’t quite as soft. Little arch support. Run true to size, but notably narrow—those with wider feet may want to go up half a size. Not as plush as our Nike picks. Limited colors. Free Reebok account required to get free shipping.

Cuup Scoop Bra (2 Bras, FINAL SALE) — Our Pick
Cuup deal price: $79; street price: $156

What we like: Our weightless underwire bra pick. Luxurious and minimalist design. Great for everyday wear. So lightweight our testers almost forgot they were wearing it. Underwire band and wide straps provide plenty of support.

What we like: An everyday hoodie recommended in our guide to great last-minute Christmas gifts. Inexpensive (especially on sale). An ideal extra layer: not too cold, warm, or fussy. Soft and cut generously. The 50/50 cotton/polyester blend holds color and texture better than 100% cotton but still feels breathable.

IUGA High-Waist Yoga Pants — Our Pick
Amazon deal price: $20; street price: $24

What we like: Our cheap and surprisingly soft leggings pick. Fit and felt better than other leggings we tried in the same price range. Soft, comfy, and generally flattering cut. Gentle but supportive compression. Functional, convenient pockets.

Other things to know: Some may find the one-inch elastic waistband to be constricting. A little loose at the ankle for some testers. We found the fabric lost its shape a bit over time. Deal price is for select colors and sizes.

What we like: Our cheap round sunglasses pick. Also recommended in gift guides and outdoor guides. Comfortable and sturdy. Complements a variety of face shapes. Keyhole nose bridge. Mini screwdriver provided with purchase. Logo-free and unisex.

PetKit EverSweet Solo 2 Water Fountain — Top Pick
Amazon deal price: $40; street price: $50

Other things to know: Also comes with a companion app, which lets you set up cleaning and refill reminders, but has a limited feature set.

What we like: Our top pick for the best dog poop bag. Low-cost. Easy to use. Strong and thick enough to be reassuring and not let you feel what you’re picking up too closely. Comes in huge quantities.

Other things to know: Comes with a plastic dispenser and leash clip. Can be a little tricky to open. They’re not even slightly eco-friendly. Deal for 60 rolls of 15 bags.

FurHaven Trail Pup Packable Pet Pillow — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $23; street price: $26

What we like: Our also-great pick for a simple, portable dog ideal for picnics, camping, and backyard hangs. Slick fabric resists liquids and cleans up easily. We liked the versatility; it comes with its own stuff sack for portability, and can also serve as a crate mat or cold-weather blanket.

Other things to know: Polyester batting filling provides cushion but isn't supportive, so we don't recommend as a main bed. Probably won’t hold up to the teeth of a puppy or any dog who likes to chew. Clip the on-page coupon; deal price is on the colorway paprika/camo-paw.

Giotohun Cat Water Fountain — Also Great
Amazon deal price: $26; street price: $40

What we like: Our easier-to-clean pet water fountain pick. Faucet-like curved metal spout may intrigue a tap-loving pet. Disassembles easily for cleaning. One of the most quiet fountains we tested. LED-lit translucent bowl makes it easy to keep tabs on water level. Inexpensive filters.

Other things to know: Dark interior can make grime hard to spot. One of several apparent clones of the same design (and may be a clone itself). Holds 3.2 liters. Two-year warranty.

What we like: Our budget flea and tick collar pick for dogs. Offers eight-month protection, much longer than a topical or an oral treatment. Both repels and kills fleas and ticks. The least expensive of our picks, and you can buy it without a prescription.

Other things to know: Doesn’t protect against worms, so you’ll need to combine it with a separate, additional treatment. Some dogs may not like having an extra thing around their neck. Ships free from Chewy.
