Apple AirTag Bluetooth Tracker (4-Pack) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $75; street price: $100

What we like: Our pick for the best Bluetooth tracker for iPhone users. Impressively accurate in pinpointing an item’s precise location. Leverages Apple’s extensive Find My network. Can swap in a new battery as needed. Water-resistant.

Other things to know: Doesn’t have any way to ring your phone. Cannot attach to your stuff directly. Cannot be shared with another person. Sales on four-packs typically offer the best price per tracker. This deal matches the lowest price we've seen to date.

What we like: Our top pick for the best MacBook. Compared with previous generations, it has a brighter display, better webcam, MagSafe magnetic port, and other design updates that make for an overall better experience. Great option for everyday work tasks, browsing, streaming media, and playing App Store games.

Other things to know: We think the less expensive M2-based model is a better buy than the newer M3 MacBook unless you want to use two monitors. Not ideal for editing or processing large media files for extended periods. Comes with 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $80; street price: $95

What we like: Our top pick for the best stylus for drawing on higher-end iPads. Offers best-in-class accuracy and speed. Features pressure sensitivity along with tilt recognition and palm rejection. Charges magnetically through your iPad. Offers a convenient double-tapping feature.

Other things to know: Compatible only with iPads that have USB-C ports, and not the most recent, 10th-generation iPad. Doesn’t work with older iPads.

Apple Watch Series 9 (41 mm, Aluminum Case) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $300; street price: $350

What we like: Our top pick for the best smartwatch for iPhone owners. Offers the best combination of style, health and fitness features, app selection, battery life, and price of any smartwatch for any platform. More premium features than previous models.

Other things to know: Battery easily lasts for a day on a charge, but if you’re doing anything demanding, you may find your watch in power-reserve mode by the end of the day. 41 mm face size, aluminum case, comes with GPS but not cellular. Limited colors.

Our top pick, the Meta Quest 3, and two controllers sitting on a blue surface.

Meta Quest 3 VR Headset (128 GB) — Top Pick

Best Buy deal price: $430; street price: $500

What we like: Our top pick for the best standalone VR headset has a cord-free design and convincing hand tracking, with the added option to plug it in to a PC to access more-powerful games. Controllers are intuitive and easy to hold. Has a wide selection of compatible content.

Other things to know: The battery life is just okay, around two hours in our testing. Strap lacks padding and doesn’t distribute weight on the back of the head as well as a halo-style strap. The controllers lost sight of our hands more often than headsets with exterior sensors.

A Lenovo Slim 7i Gen 9 (14” Intel) laptop showing an abstract home screen background, sitting on a green surface.
Photo: Michael Hession

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best Windows ultrabook. Offers fast performance, a long battery life, a reliable keyboard and trackpad, an accurate fingerprint reader and a 360-degree hinge. Just as portable as our top pick.

Other things to know: Difficult to open one-handed. Nearly as good as our top pick, but its display is a bit smaller and a bit dimmer, and its webcam isn’t as high-def. Store pickup required, but may be delayed depending on location.

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 (CP714-2W-56B2) — Upgrade Pick
Best Buy deal price: $470; street price: $650

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best Chromebook. A great choice if you want a lighter Chromebook with longer battery life, more storage, and a more flattering 1440p webcam. Reliable keyboard and trackpad. Vivid 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen display.

Other things to know: It’s uncomfortable to hold as a tablet. Comes with our recommended specs of Intel Core i5-1335U processor, 8 GB of memory, and 256 GB SSD. Has guaranteed update support through June 2032.

What we like: Another good Chromebook for streaming games. The only model with an Ethernet port to provide a reliable internet connection for streaming. Has a vivid 16-inch, 2560×1600 display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a responsive, comfortable RGB keyboard.

Other things to know: We don’t recommend getting a Chromebook to stream games over Wi-Fi; you're likely to encounter frustrating hiccups. Specs include Intel Core i5-1240P processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD. Deal matches previous low.

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best portable monitor. Vibrant, sharp OLED display that offers the best contrast of any portable monitor we tested. Great color and image quality. Convenient kickstand.

Other things to know: 15.6-inch display. Hidden ports behind the screen (instead of out the side) include two 60 W USB-C ports, mini HDMI port, and a headphone jack.

A Sony ZV-1 II camera.
Photo: Michael Hession

Sony ZV-1 II Camera — Our Pick
Best Buy deal price: $800; street price: $900

What we like: Our camera pick for vlogging outdoors and on the go. Compact, light, and able to record stabilized 4K video. Flip-out screen is great for easily framing selfies. Built-in optical image stabilization smooths movements. Designed explicitly for vlogging.

Other things to know: Records 4K video at 30 fps or 1080p at 120 fps. Top-mounted directional mic records stereo audio. Stacked 1-inch sensor and f/1.8–4 Zeiss lens with 2.8x zoom. Menu and button layout aren't very intuitive. Matches previous low. Deal price on both black and white from Amazon and Best Buy, only available in white from Dell.

DJI Air 2S Drone (Fly More Combo) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $1,239; street price: $1,533

What we like: Our top photo and video drone pick. High-quality 5.4K camera. Stable even in moderate winds. Can sense and avoid obstacles approaching from front, back, top, and bottom. Smart flight modes greatly reduce risk of crashes. Easy to fold and stow away. Impressive 31-minute battery life.

Other things to know: Lacks the side sensors of our upgrade pick. Controller doesn't have a built-in screen. Two-year warranty. Bundle includes two extra batteries, four pairs of propellers, a gimbal protector, battery charging hub and battery-to-power-bank adapter and shoulder bag.

GoPro Hero12 Black Action Camera — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $300; street price: $350

What we like: Our top pick for the best action camera. Impressive image quality and super-steady stabilization. Easy to use even for beginners. Waterproof to a depth of 10 meters (33 feet). Lens cover is Gorilla Glass measuring 2 mm thick. GoPro’s app is really good.

Other things to know: Battery generally lasted about 15% longer than that of its predecessor, the Hero11 Black.

What we like: Our top pick for the best instant photo printer. Ultra-portable and compact. Quickly delivers vibrant, credit-card-sized film-like prints. Easy to set up and use with an intuitive app.

Other things to know: Printer body feels fragile. Prints take four to six minutes to fully develop and may lack fine detail and clarity. Uses the same film packs as Fujifilm’s Instax cameras. Recurring deal price.

Samsung Pro Plus microSD Card (512 GB) — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $40; street price: $57

What we like: Our top pick for the best microSD card. Exceedingly easy to find, speedy, and inexpensive compared to rivals. It has the storage space for dozens of game downloads or hours of 4k drone footage.

Other things to know: Can function as the boot drive or storage for a kit PC like the Raspberry Pi. Unfortunately, the street price has risen recently.

The Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo, our also great pick for best pizza oven, sitting on a kitchen counter with fruit.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo — Also Great
Best Buy deal price: $800; street price: $1,000

What we like: Our pick for the best indoor countertop pizza oven. Preheats up to 750° in 15 minutes and can cook a pizza in just over 90 seconds. Comes with preset functions, precise temperature control, a timer, and pizza peel and pan.

Other things to know: A costly, specific-use appliance. Almost twice the price of our top outdoor pizza oven pick when not on sale. Doesn't get as hot as our outdoor oven picks.

GE JGB735 Gas Stove — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $730; street price: $900

What we like: Our top pick gas range. Convection range has an air-fry mode. Five cooktop burners in varying power levels. Easy-to-clean cast iron grates. Looks good, with an intuitive control panel.

Other things to know: Currently discontinued. Deal price for stainless steel finish; other finishes on sale for different prices. Deal price includes delivery, but does not include parts and installation, which may vary by region.

Breville Barista Touch Espresso Machine — Upgrade Pick
Best Buy deal price: $800; street price: $950

What we like: Our upgrade, all-in-one espresso machine pick for beginners. Sleek design. Powerful steam wand. Built-in grinder. Easy for first-time baristas. Manual options for those with more experience. Touchscreen control center with step-by-step tutorials and multiple programs.

Other things to know: Two-year warranty. Built-in grinder isn't as fine-tuned as standalone espresso-focused grinders. We often see this machine available at this price, but we have yet to see it go any lower.

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $300; street price: $400

What we like: Our air fryer toaster oven pick and our upgrade toaster oven pick. Performs just as well as an air fryer as it does a toaster oven. Specific settings for dehydrating, proofing, and slow cooking. Crisps up food faster than traditional toaster ovens. Large two-rack capacity. Multiple fan speeds.

Other things to know: Even on sale, notably more expensive than our other picks. "Super convection" fan speed is incredibly loud. Didn't toast bread quite as evenly as other picks. We'd prefer a pizza stone over the included nonstick pizza pan. As low as we've seen this model.

Breville Joule Turbo Sous Vide — Upgrade Pick
Best Buy deal price: $200; street price: $250

What we like: Our upgrade sous vide cooker, and a device that we rank among the best Google Assistant–compatible smart devices. One of the smallest and most powerful options out there, and it works with less water. Impressively high-tech, it lets you check your food’s cooking progress or tweak temperatures through Google Assistant–integrated voice commands.

Other things to know: Lacks physical controls.

The Hisense U8N Series LCD/LED TV (85-Inch)
Photo: Hisense

Hisense U8N Series LCD/LED TV (85-Inch) — Upcoming Pick
Best Buy deal price: $1,800; street price: $2,000

What we like: An LCD/LED TV in testing right now that looks very promising. Part of the Hisense 2024 TV lineup. Features 4K resolution, quantum-dot color, and mini-LED backlighting in sizes from 55 to 85 inches.

Other things to know: The newest model in the Hisense U8 Series and likely to become a pick. The U8K is our current runner-up pick for the best LCD/LED TV. Deal for the 85-inch size.

Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K Projector — Our Pick
Best Buy deal price: $3,500; street price: $4,000

What we like: Our pick for the best 4K projector for a home theater. Delivers a great-looking 4K image in darker and brighter settings. Long-lasting laser light source. Very easy to set up. Great for both movies and gaming.

Other things to know: Black levels are not as crisp as higher-end projectors. HDR brightness is manually adjusted using slider control. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs. No 3D video support. Two-year limited warranty.

A Google Pixel 8a showing the home screen, lying on a pink surface.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

Google Pixel 8a (128 GB, Unlocked) — Budget Pick
Best Buy deal price: $450; street price: $500

What we like: Our budget Android phone pick. 6.1-inch screen has same 120Hz OLED display as Pixel 8. Mostly lived up to Google's 24-hour battery life claim. IP67 water-resistance rating. Face Unlock and fingerprint scanner. All the same AI features as pricier Pixel models.

Other things to know: Guaranteed updates until 2031. Body and cameras are less high-end than Pixel 8. Graphics-heavy games drain battery. Specs include Google’s Tensor G3 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage. Deal is for unlocked phone in all colors.

Google Pixel 8a (256 GB, Unlocked) — Budget Pick
Best Buy deal price: $509; street price: $560

What we like: Our budget Android phone pick. Mostly lived up to Google's 24-hour battery life claim. 6.1-inch screen has same 120Hz OLED display as Pixel 8. IP67 water-resistance rating. Face Unlock and fingerprint scanner. All the same AI features as pricier Pixel models.

Other things to know: Graphics-heavy games drain battery. Guaranteed updates until 2031. Body and cameras are less high-end than Pixel 8. Specs include Google’s Tensor G3 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB storage. Deal is for unlocked phone in all colors.

The best Google smart speaker for music, the Google Nest Audio.
Photo: Marki Williams

Google Nest Audio Smart Speaker — Our Pick
Best Buy deal price: $60; street price: $100

What we like: Our Google Nest smart speaker pick for streaming music. A capable smart home assistant for Google users. Noticeably richer audio experience than the smaller Google Nest speaker. Can be paired for a stereo set or used with other Google speakers for multiroom audio.

Other things to know: On par with the Amazon Echo. Sound is good but nothing special. Just under 7 inches tall and with a slim, 3-inch base. Has a physical switch on the back to turn the microphone off, and tap controls on either side to control volume.

Eufy S221 EufyCam Outdoor Security Camera — Also Great
Best Buy deal price: $240; street price: $330

What we like: Our set it and forget it (for a while) outdoor security camera pick. Captures excellent images and audio. Free perks include the ability to record 2K video and store in base station, and the ability to differentiate between humans and other moving things. Three video storage options.

Other things to know: Battery lasts between four to 12 months depending on camera placement and how often it's triggered. Object detection could be better. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. Includes two cameras and base station.

Google Nest Hub Max Smart Display — Our Pick
Best Buy deal price: $130; street price: $200

What we like: Our pick for Google devotees and home cooks from our guide to the best smart displays. Great for streaming audio or making video calls. Integrates seamlessly with Google apps (including Google Calendar for reminders). Also great for hands-free following recipes while cooking.

Other things to know: Smart-home functions capable, but fewer devices are compatible with Google Assistant. No physical lens cover for the camera. No Zoom capability and Meet capability is limited. Available in charcoal only.

What we like: Our runner-up pick for best home security system. Affordable and reliable system that's easy to install and use. Works with voice-control systems and offers a good selection of add-ons. Our only pick that offers free self-monitoring.

Other things to know: Optional monitoring plan is slightly cheaper than that of our top pick, but doesn’t provide video storage. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and August Smart Locks. Eight-piece kit comes with base station, keypad, outdoor camera, indoor camera, motion sensor, two entry sensors, and panic button.

What we like: Our USB-C laptop charger pick for power-hungry laptops that require 100 watts or more (such as a 16-inch MacBook Pro from 2021 or newer). Has two 140 watt USB-C ports (up to 145 watts total when used simultaneously). Includes plug with fold-up blades and 8-foot-long cable.

Other things to know: USB-IF certified. Measures 3.3 by 2.8 by 1.3 inches. One-year warranty. Insignia is Best Buy’s in-house electronics brand—we’ve found the customer support to be helpful and responsive.

Sonos Era 100 Wireless Speaker — Top Pick
Best Buy deal price: $200; street price: $250

What we like: Our top pick speaker for the best multiroom wireless speaker system. Produces a full, well-balanced sound and fits nicely in any room. Offers support for about 130 streaming services. Supports Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Alexa voice control.

Other things to know: Sonos’s own voice-control compatibility is limited. Difficult to add external, non-AirPlay-enabled audio players to the system. Sonos app can be glitchy.

What we like: Our runner-up pick for the best outdoor security camera offers excellent battery life, the option to store recordings locally or in the cloud, and has the best array of customizations for the money. Even without a subscription it distinguishes between motion, people, vehicles, and pets.

Other things to know: Image quality wasn’t as sharp as what we got from the Arlo and Eufy cameras. We strongly recommend paying for the Tapo Care cloud subscription, it's competitively priced. Compatible with fewer smart-platform apps and doesn’t support geofencing. Deal for a set of four cameras, offering the best price per camera we've seen yet.

Beats Fit Pro Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds — Also Great
Best Buy deal price: $150; street price: $175

What we like: Our pick for the best wireless Bluetooth earbuds for those who want voice-activated Siri control. Secure fit, rich sound, plus easy pairing and connection swapping with iCloud-connected Apple devices.

Other things to know: People sensitive to ear pressure may not like the fit. Can’t be paired with more than one device simultaneously. Chunky case can’t charge wirelessly. One-year manufacturer’s limited warranty. Mediocre price, but we still haven't seen lower with any regularity. Several colors are on sale for the deal price.

Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise-Cancelling Earbuds — Our Pick
Best Buy deal price: $230; street price: $280

What we like: Our pick for the best noise-cancelling earbuds. Small but powerful. Sound fantastic and cancel noise better than any other buds we tested. Eight hours of battery life. Great features include a simple hear-through mode, Alexa and Google voice-activation, dual-device connectivity, and noise-reducing microphones.

Other things to know: Includes four sizes of tips, but may still prove challenging to keep in place for folks with small ears or who are very active. No wired mode; you’ll need a Bluetooth transmitter to use with any in-flight entertainment systems that require cable connection.

What we like: Another good option in our Bluetooth wireless headphones guide. A former pick we still like, especially on sale. Significantly reduces the noise of voices around you. Has a ton of app-based bonus features. Comfortable enough to wear all day. One-year limited warranty.

Other things to know: Our former pick for working at an office and the predecessor to our current upgrade pick. Mediocre sound quality that can be fixed with in-app EQ adjustment. Noise cancellation not great for airplanes. Not water or sweat resistant.

What we like: Our also great pick for the best wireless gaming headset for Xbox owners. Comfortable, lightweight build and excellent sound. Compatible with any platform that uses Bluetooth or wireless USB connections. Has a long battery life, and it charges quickly.

Other things to know: Microphone is good enough for chatting with friends. If Xbox compatibility isn’t important to you, consider instead our upgrade pick, which offers better sound quality.

What we like: Our budget over-ear noise-cancelling headphones pick. Impressive noise cancellation and good sound for under $100. Comfortable and lightweight. 40-hour battery life with ANC on. Offers dual-device connectivity, hear-through mode, and quick-charge feature.

Other things to know: The three noise-reducing microphones can make voices sound compressed and somewhat distant to callers. Layout of physical control buttons makes sense, but they're small and take some practice to master. Customizable sound via Soundcore app.

Shokz OpenRun Headphones — Our Pick
Best Buy deal price: $90; street price: $130

What we like: Our pick for the best headphones for runners who don’t like earbuds. Bone-conduction headphones transmit music directly to the inner ear, leaving the ear canal open. Solid, lightweight build with IP67 waterproof rating. Easy-to-access controls. Clear vocal range.

Other things to know: Must crank up the volume high to hear lots of bass or deep tones, which causes the temple pads to vibrate and tickle. Two-year warranty. Proprietary charging cable.

What we like: Our Bluetooth speaker pick for pool parties and tailgating. High-quality sound that can fill a large area. Twice as loud as our upgrade pick. Long battery life lasted 27.5 hours in our testing.

Other things to know: Bigger, heavier and pricier than our other picks. Splash resistant, but not waterproof or dustproof. Has proprietary charger. Probably overkill for most people.

Jabra Elite 8 Active Earbuds — Another Good Option
Best Buy deal price: $130; street price: $180

What we like: Another good pair of earbuds for general workouts. Comfortable, rugged, and ergonomically designed. Stabilized using Jabra’s grippy coating that gets tackier when damp. Water and dust resistance of IP68 for earbuds and IP54 for the case.

Other things to know: We don’t think these are a good option for running specifically. 14 hour battery life, eight hours with active noise cancelling. Noise-cancellation is just okay, and hear-through mode is a bit muffled. Two-year warranty. On sale in black, navy and caramel.

The Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max air purifier.
Photo: Marki Williams

Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max Air Purifier — Upgrade Pick
Best Buy deal price: $200; street price: $280

What we like: Our upgrade pick for the best air purifier. Stellar performance for large spaces around 500 square feet. Reduced smoke levels in our test room by more than 99.9 percent on its high and high-medium settings. Has air quality sensor, child lock controls, ability to shut off display, and an app for more features.

Other things to know: The relatively high price is backed up by the performance, but this much purifier is overkill for medium-size and small rooms. Filters have a shorter replacement cycle than many of our other picks, at six to nine months (versus a typical year).

Shark SpeedStyle Hair Dryer — Another Good Option
Best Buy deal price: $160; street price: $180

What we like: Another good hair dryer if you want to splurge (but not too much). A traditional hair dryer that is a great middle ground between tour top pick and our Dyson upgrade pick. Sleek and slim. Fast and hot, providing excellent blowout results.

Other things to know: Has a shorter cord and is not as gentle or quiet as our Dyson upgrade pick. Comes with a selection of three out of the available six attachments. Warrantied for two years.

Whoop 4.0 Sleep and Activity Tracker — Also Great
Best Buy deal price: $200; street price: $240

What we like: A wristband we love for tracking both sleep and activity. Offers accurate sleep and heart-rate data, and our test found its sleep data to be accurate as well. Tracks more fitness-related metrics than our top pick, the Oura Ring. Lightweight woven wristband was comfortable all day and during sleep, and blended in with outfits.

Other things to know: Ideal for wearers who don’t mind inputting a lot of data into the app, which can be intimidating. To use it, you need a $239 annual subscription (or $399 for two years), but fees are FSA-eligible. Battery lasts up to 5 days. Water-resistant.
