It fits well and looks nice. Made with metal, only plastic part is the one that holds the wrenches and the bumpers. Put it together upside down, pro tip: make sure the big holes are on the side you want to put the small female screw. Good value for price. Only reason its not 5 star is because the product would have to exceed expectations to earn that. 4 stars means it meets expectations. Hope this helps!

I had the original Perfect Pull up for years, and it was great. Recently the wide grip started to tear on me.
Plus, I was also starting to feel a little extra pressure on my shoulders, so I decided it was time for an upgrade.

The Elite Ergonomic version of the Perfect Pull has been great so far!

It was easy to assemble and feels sturdier than the original. It fits securely on my door and has not chipped, scratched or damaged the paint. It also has more grip area, compared to the original, so you can try an assortment of grips and be comfortable and feel secure while you workout.

The slight angle on the wide grip(compared to the original)really helped alleviate the shoulder pressure I was starting to feel.

I use it regularly, about 3xs a week, while doing P90X videos and it has held up great with no issues so far.

I’ve used several pull-up bars over the years, and this one is by far the most robust and sturdy. Previously, I often worried about whether my pull-up bar could support my weight, but with this model, there is minimal flex during use. It fits snugly within the door frame and remains stable throughout my workouts.

The bar offers an excellent ergonomic grip, accommodating various pull-up styles comfortably. Although I’ve only used it for pull-ups, its performance in that regard has been impressive.

While the name suggests portability, the bar is neither small nor particularly lightweight. Nonetheless, its weight is well justified by the stability and durability it provides.

One minor issue is the rubber padding that rests against the door frame. While it prevents damage to the frame, it does leave a red discoloration.

UPDATE:

The bar has ripped off the paint and left dark marks on my door frame. I imagine it will be the reason I don't get my security deposit back. Not sure if other users have experienced the same or found a way around it, but it definitely will harm your walls.

First ever review, so clearly this product is important to me. I've been looking for a solid over the door pull up bar for months now.

Pros:
*Assembly was easy enough

*Seems sturdy upon first use-granted I weigh 160. May be different for others

*I like that it can be easily removed from the door to do different workouts

* No immediate marks or staining of my door frame

Cons:
* Instructions were mediocre at best

* The foam came squished in on all the handles. This is a big con for me. I bought it for the grips because I have sweaty hands and can't just rely on the bar by itself. Hoping it lasts longer than it looks like it will- but I now have low expectations

* Barely fits my door. Not sure if I have a really wide door or not, but I worry because the padding is only about 20% on each side of the door frame-something to look out for

Conclusion:
Given the price point and competition it appears to be a decent buy. Will update after prolonged use.

Before buying this, I searched and searched for a site with door frame pull-up bars that didn't look and sound like an advertisement or paid placement disguised as an actual review (and that's what just about all of them are). I finally found one that was written by a personal trainer and seems to be legit. He tested five pull-up bars and showed his whole process, include assembly. This bar is newer than his reviews and the model he reviewed is no longer made, but this one is its successor from the same company. Based on the review, I believe this one is probably not quite as good as the one tested (a little cheaper), but it's still really good and an outstanding value for the money.

I've had this up for a couple weeks now, and have gone from not even being able to do one pull-up to be able to do six on the "easy" handles if I really push hard on the last one. When I get to ten, I'm going to start working on underhanded pull-ups. So, it is certainly serving its intended purpose well and has been a great and low-cost investment in upper body strength. I'm also using it for dips and push-ups (can't do regular ones because of RSI problems in my wrists).

I keep this bar hanging in our bedroom doorway all day so that it's convenient to stop and do some pull-ups if I'm passing by. My two teenagers and my 8 year old have also gotten into it, although none of them are even close to me in pull-ups yet LOL.

I haven't run into any of the hardware issues some buyers have noted, but like others said, don't over-tighten the screws. The instructions were very clear, accurate and detailed, and it was easy to assemble. The storage space in the door frame bar for the two hex wrenches is really convenient. Periodically, check the screws for tightness. I've had to re-tighten them a couple of times, but that's to be expected in a piece of exercise equipment like this.

This pull-up bar is a great value, and I'd still buy it again.

The pull up bar was fairly easy to assemble taking me about 10 min.
It fits perfectly in my door space.
It is very sturdy and it feels safe and secure when doing pull ups properly.
I also use an assistance band occasionally. I weigh 120 pounds but my husband weighs 185lbs and he uses it every day. He is 6'3 tall so he hangs with bent knees. My 13 year old also uses it for pull ups.
It works very well for the whole family. We are happy with the purchase.
