This convertible car seat accommodates up to 50 lbs when installed rear-facing, allowing your child to ride rear-facing longer. It easily switches to a forward-facing car seat as your child grows, accommodating up to 65 lbs. ClickTight technology provides fully open seat belt paths that are clearly labeled and easy to access, and the automatic tensioner takes care of the tightening. The baby car seat lets you easily adjust the 14-position harness and headrest to help create your child’s perfect fit. The car seat features 17-inch SpaceSaver technology designed to fit 3-across* without compromising on trusted Britax safety and premium comfort. Amazing car seat!
This Britax Poplar is so easy to install and is so narrow! I had a gigantic Cybex Sirona rotating car seat with a load leg and it was just so giant. I was tired of it. So we downsized and now my boys can sit next to each other and we can have another passenger. I did try to install poplar then Britax grow with me front facing car seat and another poplar on the other side and I was able to fit three across in my BMW X5. And I love the cow print:) Amazing car seat!!! Click tight is such a game changer! I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

2. Everything is really sturdy and easily adjustable for baby

3 ease of cleaning: you can literally just throw all the pieces in the washer if needed. With a little one this is invaluable

4. Easy install and adjustment = increased safety.

This seat feels so luxurious and is such a great value. We purchased during prime days and have been so pleased with it since! Do yourself a favor and just buy the seat!

Our 12 month old loves his new car seat. We transitioned to this car seat after using the Clek liing infant car seat, which we also really liked. We researched the current options throughly and settled on this one because of crash test performance, the fact that no flame retardants are used, and the slim design. There was no smell to the materials on unboxing and it was very easy to install. The seat fits in our sedan well and our son looks very comfortable when sitting in it. I also like the peace of mind with the anti rebound bar. I am very happy with this purchase and I feel that it is an excellent value considering the quality of the materials and the features of this car seat for the price point. We have not washed the cover yet but the material wipes down easily.

I have been a Britax fan since 2007 when I got my then 1 year old his car seat. Since then, I’ve only had Britax car seats. It continues as we have purchased car seats for our grand daughter. My daughter has two and I have two. One I bought had issues and Britax was x changed it no questions. This Poplar S is perfect for my jeep wrangler. The one for life is great! But it was struggle in my jeep for room. We have put that in my husbands truck and this Poplar S in the jeep. Best car seats, safe and easy to use. Won’t go with another brand. You won’t be disappointed. Fit is easy, install easy, it is a heavier seat, but not too heavy, and for me, if it’s too light, I would question safety…

I bought this to replace a 6 year old Nuna Rava that broke. Back when I bought the Rava in 2018, it was one of the only 50lb rear facing limit car seats and had the easiest installation. Of course, other car seat manufacturers would be following suit soon enough.

This car seat is an excellent and more affordable option for those looking for the Nuna Rava. It actually is better, in my opinion because it:
- is practically half price
- has removable cup holders
- has a removable and washable cover
- has easier to tighten harness straps (I swear I had to injure my shoulder to get the Rava straps tight enough, especially in colder weather)
- has a better way to hold the harness straps and buckles to the side as you're loading in your baby

Literally the only things I don't like about it are the same two things with all Britax car seats (I have two other Britax for my older kids): they're super heavy and the harness straps release button is hard to locate and activate.

I used the Rava for 6 years, and it served its purpose well. But I'm kinda glad it broke (user error, not the car seat's fault) because now I don't have to injure myself getting my kid strapped in properly.

This car seat has the two things I chose the Rava for: the 50lb rear facing weight limit and the super easy installation. But it's less expensive (in no way "cheap" though) and easier to use.

I was dead set on purchasing a Nuna Rava, however I was turned off by the nonsensical cup holder placement. This Britax Poplar car seat came up in my final search as a compact seat that was also high quality. Being so determined on the Nuna Rava, I half expected that I might return the Poplar S. However I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and design of the Britax. The fabric is super soft and the seat is extra padded. I was previously using a hand-me-down Safety1st car seat and it’s insane how better the Poplar quality is as compared to a $150 car seat alternative.

This seat is compact and fits well in my Subaru Impreza Sport. Install was pretty easy but I will need to put a rolled up towel under the seat to even it out and use the rebound bar.

Summary: I’m impressed by this car seat as a competitor to other high-end, pricier alternatives like the Nuna Rava.

Overall we have enjoyed the car seat. We have had it just under a month now. We wanted a car seat that could accomplish 3 things.
1. Extended rear facing option
2. Easy to install
3. Easy to adjust straps
This car seat does fulfill these options for us. It has the highest available limits for rear facing. It uses clicktight technology so you aren’t trying to pull a ton to get a tight install. It also does not require rethreading the straps to adjust the level.
These are the pros for us.
The biggest two cons are that the car seat is very very heavy and the fabric part is difficult to get on and off.
1. The car seat is so heavy that it exceeds the lower anchor limits around 35lbs (check the manual for exact limit). This requires you to install with the seatbelt which is not much more difficult because of the clicktight technology but the latch system is so easy. We also were hoping to have a car seat that was easier to install so that it would be easy to switch the seat over to a different vehicle. Unfortunately because it is so so heavy, it is not convenient to do so.
2. Our first convertible carseat only had two fabric pieces to take off when cleaning was required. They were also easy to put back on. This has several pieces and lots of little loops and parts that you have to carefully retuck the fabric. That’s fine but I was not expecting it. We had to wash the cover fairly soon after installing the car seat since our toddler had a bathroom accident.

TLDR: We are glad to find a car seat that worked for extended rear facing and that is easy to install and use. We were surprised by how heavy it was and the time it took to put the fabric back on the seat after cleaning.
