Repotted a Joshua tree that I gre from a seed with this soul
I repotted the tree which is a rare very slow growing desert tree from CA and so far the tree appears to have perked up. Fingers crossed as these trees take years to get big, this one 6 years old! The soil bag wasn’t too big but added old soil and rocks at the bottom and perfect.

I don’t know much about plant care but, I like this soil a lot. I have a Benjamin’s ficus and a braided money tree. I bought both from big box stores and both weren’t in well draining soil, had fungus gnats, and one actually had fungus. Since repotting with this soil (and treating) they are both thriving, have new growth, and their colors are much more vibrant. I think it’s fairly priced and works well with what I have used it for.

Nice rich soil perfect for my succulents.

Overall this is a great soil mix. It's very heavy on course sand (I like to incorporate more bark chips, like orchid mix, and perlite for my well-draining mixes). The fine soil does tend to slip through the drainage hole so you lose some. I would use something chunkier for semi-epyphitic plants, but this is good for plants that require a well-draining mixture but can handle a heavier soil. I tend to use this as a mix (especially for my aroids): 1 part espoma cactus mix (this product), 2 parts orchid mix (I also use espoma), 1 part regular indoor potting soil (I also use espoma for this), and just a dash of extra perlite. Works great!

On a separate note, I LOVE that these come in resealable bags so I can keep it for longer.

Reviewed in Canada on March 29, 2019

I received the soil in a timely manner and it has done my three succulents as well as three tropical plants well.
The only thing I do have to say is that it's a little too pricey which makes me hesitant to purchase it again for all of my plants. But if you're catering to a couple of plants, it'll last you longer. It arrived fresh and had kept its own freshness for months over the time span it took me to use it plant more of my plants. .Great product!
