Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth.

Situation:

A front moves north across New Zealand today, then a ridge of high pressure starts building from the south early on Wednesday before a new weak front arrives in the far south late evening. The ridge moves slowly northeast across New Zealand during Thursday and Friday while weakening, then another front affects the South Island on Friday.

Tuesday: Northerly 10 knots rising to 15 knots early morning. Turning westerly 15 knots this evening. Sea slight. Low cloud or fog clearing this morning, then partly cloudy. Poor visibility in rain early morning and again this evening. Northeast swell 1 metre.

Outlook until midnight Friday: Wednesday: Westerly 10 knots, turning southerly 15 knots in the afternoon. A few showers developing. Northeast swell 1 metre.
