A front moves north across New Zealand today, then a ridge of high pressure starts building from the south early on Wednesday before a new weak front arrives in the far south late evening. The ridge moves slowly northeast across New Zealand during Thursday and Friday while weakening, then another front affects the South Island on Friday.
