Notable this week: The rankings change following Villa Park’s 49-47 win over then-No. 5 Fairmont Prep last week in the North Orange County Championships. … Canyon climbs three spots after reaching the championship game of that tournament. … Edison beat Cypress, so the Chargers remain at  No. 7 and Cypress at No. 8. … Trabuco Hills pops into the Top 10.

1. Mater Dei 7-1: A trip to the Bahamas included a loss to New York’s Long Island Lutheran, a national Top-5 team in some rankings, and a win over Texas’ Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy.

2. JSerra 12-0: The Lions beat Mater Dei of Chula Vista. They get a shot at Trinity League rival Mater Dei on Jan. 5 at Mater Dei.
