Breed: Australian kelpie-Siberian husky mix

Age: 2 years

Sex: Spayed female

Size: 40 pounds

Iris’ story: Iris spent a lot of time in a crate and is extremely under-socialized. Because of that, she can be conflicted when meeting new people – she absolutely loves some folks, but is terrified of others. She also guards her food, probably because it gave her comfort while in her crate. Iris has a lot of potential, but she needs experienced family members who will be patient while showing her love and a good life. If you have a loving, stable home where Iris can be spoiled and learn to trust people, she just may be the perfect dog for you.

Adoption cost: During Mission Viejo Animal Services’ “Home for the Holidays” event, Dedicated Animal Welfare Group, the organization’s volunteer arm, will sponsor Iris’ adoption fees, so her approved applicant will pay only $20 to adopt her.

Adoption procedure: Application and screening of potential adopters is required to ensure they are the right fit for Iris. Visit Iris at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, 28095 Hillcrest, Mission Viejo; call 949-470-3045; or visit the center’s website.
