Film photography has a special way of putting a nostalgic lens on what’s around you.

It can also provide a sentimental attachment to the history the camera has seen. A few years ago, my mom gave me her Canon T-70 film camera, which she originally purchased to capture the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

The OC Fair lends itself to a picturesque backdrop for film photography: the fair rides, with the blue sky peaking out, activities such as pig racing and demolition derby, classic fair food, and the bright lights from the carnival games once the sun sets.
