The 2025 NBA playoff picture betting odds demonstrate what oddsmakers believe the probability each of the league's 30 teams has of qualifying for the postseason, with some squads obviously being more of a sure thing than others.

Here's a look at how the Association is shaping up and which teams have the strongest odds of competing for the Larry O'Brien trophy next year.

Best Bet To Qualify For NBA Playoffs: Los Angeles Clippers, +180

The Los Angeles Clippers have failed to secure a playoff berth on only two occasions since 2011, and they still managed to finish with a winning record (albeit barely at 42-40) each time.

The roster has undergone some dramatic changes this summer, though, mainly in the form of nine-time All-Star Paul George electing to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. Los Angeles managed to advance to the conference finals once with George, while also bowing out in the first round each of the last two years.

That leaves Kawhi Leonard, who has missed a total of 79 regular season games due to injury since joining the Clippers, and James Harden to pick up the slack. The likes of Mo Bamba, Kris Dunn, and Derrick Jones Jr. will shore up the depth, and Terance Mann will see an increased role as well.

The team's chances to reach the postseason ultimately fall on how healthy Leonard is and what his availability will be moving forward. He did compete in 68 games last season, which was his most since suiting up for the San Antonio Spurs, so that's at least promising. At plus money, and even in a stacked Western Conference, there's enough there sans George for Los Angeles to remain a threat, and while it may not be vying for the top seed like it was in 2023-24, it's hard not to like their chances of staying in the mix with other upper-echelon teams.

Best Bet To Miss NBA Playoffs: Los Angeles Lakers, -115

The Los Angeles Lakers have barely eked into the playoffs in recent memory, needing to advance out of the play-in tournament just to lock in one of the bottom two seeds three of the last four years.

Now with a first-year head coach in JJ Redick who has never coached on any level prior to accepting this position, the Lakers enter a 2024-25 campaign with plenty of uncertainty despite maintaining the loftiest of goals. LeBron James may have another year or two of basketball left in him, and it's hard to imagine Anthony Davis playing another 76-game slate based on his history of injuries.

The front office did little to bolster the roster this summer outside of landing sniper Dalton Knecht out of Tennessee later in the draft than some had anticipated, and the Bronny James effect will generate a ton of media coverage but not much in terms of initial contributions on the hardwood. The West is only getting better and time is running out for Los Angeles to get back into title contention, but first, it has to simply qualify for the playoffs which is no longer guaranteed with the competition around it.
