Rutgers is preparing to begin summer practices and will be without one major addition to the team.

Dylan Harper will be sidelined after undergoing what head coach Steve Pikiell called a “voluntary procedure” on his right knee, according to multiple reports including Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press.

“Dylan Harper had a successful voluntary procedure on his knee,” Pikiell said Friday. “He will not practice for 4-6 weeks. He will be present for all team activities.”

Harper, who headlines the incoming recruiting class for Rutgers along with Ace Bailey, missed time during the high school season with an issue with this knee. He returned toward the end of the season as Don Bosco Prep made a run to a state championship. Harper arrived to campus on Friday and was seen walking around.

The summer practices for the Scarlet Knights will begin on Saturday and run through Aug. 9. Harper will be present for all activities and is not expected to miss time once full practices begin in September.
