Bio
Marisa Cooke is a physician assistant at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, where she specializes in breast care and surgery. She runs the Breast Diagnostic Clinic and provides clinical care for patients with benign, high-risk and malignant diagnoses. Marisa’s areas of specialty include:
- Breast cancer
- Robotic surgery
- Mastectomies and lumpectomies
She also has specialized training in minimally invasive robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System.
Women’s Healthcare
As part of the team at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, Marisa brings a multidisciplinary approach to care. A team of specialists works together to develop personalized treatment plans based on each patient’s diagnosis and needs. The cancer institute provides comprehensive care, from diagnosis through treatment and recovery.
Marisa Cooke’s Training
Marisa earned a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Central Florida and a master of medical science (MMS) in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Through the MMS program, Marisa completed surgical rotations in orthopedic surgery at Alexian Brothers Health System in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
About Marisa
Before joining Orlando Health, Marisa worked as a surgical physician assistant at Western DuPage Obstetrics & Gynecology in Downers Grove. She also was a preceptor in women’s health for physician assistant students at Midwestern University, where she lectured on women’s health.
She currently is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
