SANFORD — Seminole Circuit Judge James E.C. Perry has been selected to be chief judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit, which covers Seminole and Brevard counties.
Perry, 59, will be the first black jurist elected to the post in the circuit’s 36-year history.
He begins his two-year term July 1, succeeding Brevard Circuit Judge Bruce W. Jacobus.
