Former Edgewater High player Marquis Daniels scored 29 points on 12 of 14 shooting as Auburn (18-7, 7-5 SEC) shot 65 percent in an 80-75 victory over host Mississippi (12-11, 3-9). Daniels hit his first 11 shots for the Tigers.

LSU HAMMERS ARKANSAS

Ronald Dupree had 25 points and 13 rebounds as host LSU (15-9, 4-8) romped past Arkansas (7-16, 2-10) 75-56.

CALHOUN BACK, UCONN WINS

Coach Jim Calhoun’s return to the Connecticut bench 16 days after prostate cancer surgery was successful and dramatic. Ben Gordon scored 18 points and Emeka Okafor dominated inside with 12 rebounds and nine blocks as the Huskies (17-6, 8-4 Big East) held on for a 77-69 victory over St. John’s (12-11, 5-8).

SETON HALL ON A ROLL

Kelly Whitney scored 17 points as visiting Seton Hall (13-9, 7-4 Big East) beat West Virginia (13-11, 4-8) 68-64 for its sixth straight victory.
