After the deepest run in the event in school history, the sixth-ranked Florida men’s tennis team met up with second-ranked Illinois in the national title match where the Gators put up a fight before falling to the Illini 4-2 at the USTA/ITA National Men’s Team Indoor Championship in Louisville, Ky.
UCF MEN’S GOLF TEAM FINISHES 2ND
The UCF men’s golf team almost rallied from eight shots back in the final round of the USF Invitational in Tampa, finishing second. The Golden Knights ended the three-round tournament with a score of 905, three shots behind tournament champion Jacksonville State (902).

FSU SOFTBALL FALLS TO OREGON STATE
After two rain delays over two days, 11th-ranked Florida State’s second game of the 2003 NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., against Oregon State ended Sunday morning with a 2-0 loss. FSU (11-4) had just four hits and was shutout for the first time in 2003.
