MONROE, La.– Florida Atlantic QB Sean Clayton went 12-of-18 for 164 yards and a touchdown to help the Owls edge past Louisiana-Monroe 21-19 in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both schools. The victory was the first for the Owls (1-4, 1-0 Sun Belt) against Louisiana-Monroe in three tries and their first of the season. Louisiana-Monroe (1-3) outgained FAU 407-336 in total offense, but could not overcome two turnovers and six penalties.
