I think the ban on cameras in the delivery room is a little extreme and old-fashioned. Do women get any say on whether or not they’ll be able to document such an important moment in their lives?
I understand the concern of hospitals and the liability factor, but unless there’s a reality TV camera crew crowded into the hospital room with all kinds of wires and booms coming down on the doctor’s head, I really don’t see the problem.
It almost feels like we’re regressing to the old days when fathers weren’t even allowed in the delivery room and no one really doubted it.
It might not seem like that big of a deal, but little by little choices and liberties of parents are being taken away — even in such a life-altering event like the birth of their children.
