QUICK SLANT: It’s homecoming for UF. This is a huge game in the SEC title race — and the national race, too.

ABOUT LSU: The Tigers are the most talented team in the SEC, but questions remain about Coach Les Miles and his staff. QB JaMarcus Russell (10 TDs, one pick) has excellent receivers, but he can be pressured into bad decisions. LSU has allowed just four sacks. The defense is fast, aggressive and deep. The secondary has been superb, with FS Laron Landry the standout.

ABOUT FLORIDA: It’s hard to see the Gators having any kind of running game without starting TB DeShawn Wynn, so it’s on QB Chris Leak and his receivers to produce. The Gators need big games from DEs Jarvis Moss and Derrick Harvey. In addition, cornerbacks who tend to give a lot of cushion can’t give up anything deep.

THE BUZZ: UF is looking for its first 6-0 start since 1996, the season it won the national title. That’s the season the 5-0 Gators beat LSU on homecoming.
