THE GAME: Florida forced five turnovers and got three touchdowns from true freshman QB Tim Tebow (two throwing, one rushing) en route to a 23-10 victory Saturday over LSU at Florida Field. LSU outgained the Gators and UF managed as many first downs as penalties (14 of each), but the Gators used a 16-point run midway through the game to take control. CB Ryan Smith picked off JaMarcus Russell twice, the first leading to a touchdown. And two fumbled LSU returns led to a UF touchdown and a 3rd-quarter safety.

THE INJURED: DT Javier Estopinan left in the first quarter with a right knee injury and didn’t return, finishing the game in street clothes. Coach Urban Meyer said Sunday that the injury could be season-ending. TB DeShawn Wynn appeared in the game despite a sprained knee but didn’t have a carry.

THE QUOTES: “You look at how we’re scoring points right now, and it’s a lot of different ways. I’m awful proud of that.” — Meyer

“We’re a good football team, but we didn’t play like it. And we’re all disappointed.” — LSU Coach Les Miles

THE BOTTOM LINE: Halfway to a perfect regular season, Florida takes its winning ways away from Florida Field for a month, starting with Auburn this Saturday night.
