THE GAME: Florida’s worst half of the year came at the worst possible time as Auburn rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to win 27-17 Saturday. Auburn triumphed despite not scoring an offensive touchdown. The loss severely dents UF’s national-title hopes, though the Gators still control their destiny in the SEC East. A sorry second half doomed UF; Auburn scored a touchdown on a blocked punt and UF managed five first downs, 85 yards and zero points. QB Chris Leak finished 9-of-17 for 108 yards, with one touchdown and two fourth-quarter turnovers (a fumble and an interception).

THE INJURED: No major injuries reported.

THE QUOTES: “We are a first-place team in the SEC. This is a good team in a very tough conference.” — Coach Urban Meyer

“We let this game slip out of our hands. We were in a situation to take the lead and win the game, but things didn’t go our way.” — CB Reggie Lewis

THE BOTTOM LINE: Florida’s full focus turns now toward a trip to Atlanta and a shot at the Southeastern Conference title.
