SUMMARY: South Sumter captured the Class 2A, District 4 title with a 52-7 victory against Jones (2-6, 1-2) Friday night at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

STAR: QB Denzel Smith threw touchdowns of 14, 21 and 50 yards for South Sumter (8-1, 4-0). RB Richard Kelley had 94 yards rushing on 12 carries in a little more than one half of play. The Raiders’ Tarren Freeman scored on touchdown runs of 1, 6 and 14.

KEY STAT: The Raiders’ defense held the Tigers to minus 35 yards on the ground in the first half and 10 yards rushing on the night. South Sumter had 372 yards of total offense on the night.

TURNING POINT: South Sumter used a no-huddle attack from the start and moved the ball with ease against Jones.
