Minneola Recreation Department will have its annual fall festival from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Trailhead Park.

Friday night will feature carnival rides, a costume contest at 7 p.m. and a performance by Caponi’s Cannolis from Minneola Elementary School. The Caribbean Chillers will perform a Jimmy Buffett tribute at 7:30 p.m., which includes a concert with stilt walkers and entertainers.

Saturday will feature carnival rides, children’s games, face painting, crafts, pony rides, magic tricks and a reptile show.

Entertainment on the main stage will highlight the Minneola Elementary Chorus, On Stage Dance Academy, South Lake Karate Academy, Clermont Academy of Dance and the Clermont Middle School Jazz Band.

Carlos Oliva and Los Sobrinos del Juez — or The Judge’s Nephews — will perform Saturday.

Sunday will feature carnival rides only.

Free shuttle service is available for those who park at the Lakeridge Winery, because there is no parking at the event site.

Travel time is expected to be about five minutes from parking to event site.

‘Heroes of the Sky’

“Heroes of the Sky: Adventures in Early Flight, 1903 to 1939” is on exhibit at the Florida Air Museum at Sun ‘n Fun at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. It will run through Nov. 30.

The exhibit is included with the price of admission to the museum: $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for ages 8 to 12, and free for 7 or younger.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Fall festival

A Fall Festival will be presented at First United Methodist Church’s multicultural center, 101 W. Dakin Ave., Kissimmee, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28. Vendors, make-and-take crafts, entertainment, chili and corn bread and pumpkin pie contests are included.

Doo-Wop concert

A memorial doo-wop concert to benefit Deputy Matt Williams’ family will be presented at 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Polk Theatre, 121 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland.

Veterans tribute

Five Star School Students of the Osceola County School for the Arts will present a USO-style show featuring the music, dance and comedy of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s at 2 p.m. Saturday at Osceola Performing Arts Center, 3151 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Kissimmee.

‘Dracula’

The Celebration Players are presenting Dracula 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday at the Randy Johnson Performing Arts Center at Celebration High School.

Founder’s Day

The 27th annual Good Samaritan Village Founder’s Day in Kissimmee will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. A parade, carnival, live entertainment and an open house are included. Make reservations for a free lunch at 407-933-1999.

Oakland Heritage Festival

The ninth Oakland Heritage Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Speer Park. Model A car rides, hayrides, history tours, live music, craft and plant vendors, children’s activities, a silent auction and dessert and chili cook-off contests are included. Narrated tours of Lake Apopka are $10; the boat leaves the dock every 30 minutes.

Fall festival

Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Overlook Drive in Winter Haven, will have a fall festival at 5 p.m. Sunday featuring food, a moonwalk and giant slide and game booths.

‘Music Under the Stars’

Florida Southern College and the Festival of Fine Arts in Lakeland present “Music Under the Stars” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pipkin Bandshell on campus. The free concert features the college’s symphony band, jazz band and woodwind ensemble.

Harlem Wizards to perform

The Harlem Wizards will bring a family-oriented “tricks, hoops and alley oops” basketball show Thursday to the East Ridge High School gymnasium, 13322 Excalibur Road, Clermont. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the game is at 7. The game is a fundraiser for the East Ridge drama department.

Advance tickets are available for $8 at BankFirst at State Road 50 and Grand Highway in Clermont or from any of the drama teachers at the high school. Tickets will be $10 at the door.

The Wizards, who have been delighting audiences with street-ball and comedy antics since 1962, are led by former Globetrotters star Eric “Broadway” Jones. They will be challenged by the East Ridge faculty “Dream Team.”

‘Little Shop of Horrors’

Nothin’ Productions will present Little Shop of Horrors at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at Osceola Center for the Arts, 2411 E. U.S. Highway 192, Kissimmee.

Student art exhibit

Gallery One Artists, 7 W. Darlington Ave., Kissimmee, will feature student artwork through Tuesday. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Story time at Old Town

Old Town in Kissimmee will feature spooky stories told by a professional storyteller from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday on the main stage. There will also be street entertainment and crafts. Children are encouraged to wear costumes.

Polk Museum of Art

The Polk Museum of Art at 800 E. Palmetto St., Lakeland, has several events and art shows. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and free for students with identification. Details: 863-688-7743.

Tour historic village

Visit Clermont’s Historic Village, 480 West Ave., for a step back in time to the late 1890s and early 1900s. The Townsend House, renovated by the South Lake Historical Society, is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Lions, tigers and bears
