Lake Howell made it two consecutive team state titles Wednesday in the Florida High School Athletic Association girls Class 2A golf finals in Port St. Lucie.

Led by Jessica Yadloczky, who finished second overall, Lake Howell won going away at The Saints Golf Course with a two-day team total of 587 — 37 shots ahead of runner-up Lake Mary (624).

“We have a team full of folks who can all shoot low scores,” Lake Howell Coach Carl Pain said. “That was some pretty good golf out there. Our team leaders, Jessica Yadloczky and Melissa Magdor, took charge and ran with it.”

Yadloczky went 74-65 for a 139 total but couldn’t catch Martin County’s Alex Buelow (136), who won her second state title in a row. Magdor (143) was steady as well, 72-71, to finish fourth individually behind Boca Raton Spanish River’s Madison Pressel (142), the younger sister of last year’s 1A champion and current LPGA player, Morgan Pressel.

“I’m sad to have to leave this team as we’ve had a really good bond,” said Yadloczky, who has committed orally to Florida. “It’s great to win [the team title] again.”

Jordyn Hage (75-75) and Carlie Yadloczky (77-78) rounded out Lake Howell’s scoring. Lake Mary, led by Jessica Schall’s 75, held off Venice for second place by one shot. Olympia (643) came home in fifth place, as Jessy Tang (146) finished tied for seventh in the individual standings.

In the girls Class 1A event at The Links at Pointe West in Vero Beach, Bradenton Prep (585) was the team winner, while Melbourne Holy Trinity Episcopal’s Vicky Hurst (135) claimed individual honors.

Hurst lost last year’s title to Morgan Pressel in a playoff. This year, she overtook Jensen Beach’s Megan McChrystal (139) by shooting a 64 — the lowest score of the day — in the final round.

Lake Highland Prep (682) finished ninth in team standings, with Samantha Marks (162) and Mary Beth Ramsay (164) the top scorers.
