Owner Jerry Jones is disappointed the Dallas Cowboys are turning to QB Tony Romo, although it’s not because he lacks faith in Drew Bledsoe’s former backup. “I’m disappointed at the reason we’re having to make this change,” Jones said Thursday of the Cowboys’ 3-3 start.

WR Terrell Owens, in his first season in Dallas, said he already feels better chemistry with Romo than he did with Bledsoe. Owens pointed to his 8-yard touchdown catch against the New York Giants on Monday night. “I looked across the formation, and he [Romo] looked at me, and he knew what was going on,” Owens said. “It’s just two players making a play.”

Suit centers on rat

Cowboys assistant coach Todd Haley is suing a suburban McDonald’s, claiming his wife and the family’s live-in baby sitter found a dead rat in their salad. The lawsuit seeks $1.7 million in damages, The Dallas Morning News reported on its Web site.

Hampton alleges dirty play

Pittsburgh Steelers DT Casey Hampton rattled off expletives while complaining Atlanta G Tyson Clabo tried to hurt him with a block to the back of his legs. “I can’t tell you what I told him, but it was all dirty, man,” Hampton said. “That’s like you have no respect for the game.”

Roethlisberger practices

QB Ben Roethlisberger, four days after a concussion caused by a hit in Atlanta, took most of the snaps with the Steelers’ starters and looked ready to play Sunday in Oakland. A decision isn’t expected until game time.
